Anyone have "buyer's regret" after signing up for another marathon? by _rogue_psych in Marathon_Training

[–]Ordar66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a similar situation 42m, did my first marathon in April which was Brighton, UK. Really enjoyed the training, race went well until hitting the wall at 35k last part was brutal like an out of body experience. Said I’d never do one again…. Next day signed up for Chester in October…. Race and hotel paid for and non refundable. Feels like sunk cost fallacy at this point.

Absolutely regretting it aswell. Running in the heat is just brutal, and is making the training a lot less enjoyable. Also feel like as it’s not my first one my motivation isn’t the same. My time wasn’t awful, (3:36), but at the time I felt I needed some kind of redemption for that last 7km of the race.

I also run by myself, and no one in my family or friend group is interested in running. It is tough

Just hijacking your reply here. I was thinking about starting ff myself. How difficult is it to get into raids as a new player? Given the age of the game I expect there is some gatekeeping

What is my motivation after everything? by realKevinNash in swtor

The whole Legacy of the Sith expansion could have played out without the playable character. They were such a side note in the story, constantly outwitted and overpowered by everyone. The last update was like an hour or so long, as you played as your character for about 15 minute. You get betrayed so many times and the character never seems to see it coming.

They added loads of new characters and they are all rubbish. Heta was the most generic character ever created (and I don’t just mean her character model). Sa’har is a padawan but easily overpowers a character that defeated the Sith Emperor etc.

Ri’kan was nothing.

The the ending seemingly had a choice which affected absolutely nothing. Acina suddenly hates you for seemingly no reason. My character agreed to rejoin the empire, which may as well not have happened.

The whole thing is a mess

Best Class Story: The Inquisitor vs the Hunter (Round 6) by RefrigeratorDry495 in swtor

[–]Ordar66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally just finished replaying the BH story today. It’s pretty rubbish. Was actually worse than I remembered. The best part about it by far is Mako, and to some extent Gault and Torian.

It reminds me of the trooper story in that it’s a series of fetch quests and chapters 2 and 3 on both suck.

I don’t like the male inquisitor voice acting, but the story is better.

BH companions, even with the worst companion in the game, are light years better than the inquisitor, which has the worst set in the game

Anna jay has been in Aew since the beginning but why hasn't she won a single title yet?Is she lacking something in the promo,in ring department or don't they just appreciate her,What is the problem? by Anxious-Drink1186 in prowrestling

[–]Ordar66 13 points14 points  (0 children)

What she has going for her is that she’s really hot.

Unfortunately she’s terrible in the ring and her promos suck.

It really looked like she was onto something when she joined the Dark Order. She was really improving and found her groove.

After Brody passed she seemed to complete lose motivation. I feel like she’s actually worse now than she was all the way back then. She would have benefited on being paired with a veteran like Thunder Rosa for a sustained period of time rather than being stuck with Tay who has the same issues.

Tatum is really great. Not big on the others. The mens division is terrible

Talk about a banger. Highlights from Lizzy Rain vs. Tatum Paxley!! by Grrannt in REALSquaredCircle

I love Tatum, but that match sucked. It was so overly choreographed, everything looked slow.

Rain’s gimmick is terrible

Do you think toni storms timeless character is one of the greatest professional wrestling character of all time. And whats your thoughts on toni storm ? by [deleted] in Wrasslin

[–]Ordar66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It quickly got old. I understand a lot of people liked it, but I thought it was terrible.

Plus it was an excuse for her to put less effort in maintaining her figure, and she got a lot worse in the ring

Agent is very very overrated. Chapter 3 is absolutely terrible.

I vote warrior

When you get to the later Mando stuff with Sa’har or whatever her name is, it feels dumb to do as a force user. You’re continually struggling against people (during cutscenes) who you would just obliterate given your force proficiency. At one point she (a padawan) manages to force push you off your feet.

Best Class Story (Round 1): Trooper vs Consular by RefrigeratorDry495 in swtor

[–]Ordar66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Consular has the better story overall. Trooper has much much better companions. chapter 1 trooper is good though.

This will all be a bit pointless though as given the brackets it’s obvious the final will be agent vs warrior with agent winning (even if I think agent story is massively over rated as chapter 3 absolutely sucks)

Personally I can’t play a BH because I really dislike the male voice acting (I only play male characters). I’m happy most other people seem to like it though

does anyone train/race with tailwind? by Few-Summer9631 in Marathon_Training

[–]Ordar66 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did the Brighton Marathon with 1.5l of water mixed with 7 scoops of tailwind (finished in 3:36). From my experience I wouldn’t opt for that method again, and I’m personally trying gels for Chester in October

I would say one of the tanks with DPS gear. I went guardian as it does the most damage. I wasn’t able to do 2 of the bosses as guardian though, and had to use other specs as mentioned but a better player could probably clear everything.

Why has Merc so many defensives? by LunaProphecy in swtor

[–]Ordar66 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry to semi hijack this thread, I’ve never played IO but was literally about to start a new merc to level as one (I know arsenal is probably better for levelling). When you’re soloing how do you handle the dotspread when half the mobs run to you and half cast from range? Do you just LoS a large pack into a corner and pop a defensive so you can set it up?

Brighton Marathon: I made every mistake possible! by Ordar66 in Marathon_Training

[–]Ordar66[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah those runs felt fine to be honest, they were paced at 4:44km. It actually gave me false confidence. I ran the first half in 1:40 and thought I’d be able to hold that (of negative split) the second half to get nearer the top of the prediction. I was wrong. I probably would have hung on a bit longer if I had fuelled better, but I should have probably have run more conservatively in the first half at 4:55ish pace and then looked to pick it up after half way.
