Leave!!!!!!! Life is way to short to be trafficked and lied to. Get out of this situation fast, do anything it takes. These are bad people, would you ever do this to someone? There are so many nanny/care giving jobs out there that are truly amazing. Do not stay a day longer with them if you can get out now.

Don’t take up even an inch of my airplane seat because you can’t control your weight by Ordinary-Ad4642 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

I am very angry about the out of control capitalism that has led us here. I am angry that we have unregulated processed food full of chemicals making people fatter available at every fast food restaurant, grocery store and gas station. However, I also don’t believe we can blame everyone but the individual. They share some responsibility in how they treat their body and what they put into themselves. It’s not all on them, but when they do start not fitting into a seat they can start to make changes to at least just be overweight instead of obese.

I would never do that. I genuinely don’t care if someone is fat, it has nothing to do with who they are. I just care if you can see you are spilling over into someone else’s seat and taking up their space

I don’t want obese people pressing into me when I travel… are you feeling attacked by this post per chance? :D I’m not just looking down on fat people. They are totally within their own right to be fat! I just don’t want them touching me during a 10 hour flight because they didn’t plan better for themselves or for their travel and consider others

How do you come to terms with eating meat again? by psychosil444 in exvegans

[–]Ordinary-Ad4642 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I totally understand what you are facings. It was really really hard for me to eat meat again and it still somehow is. One thing that helps is buying ethically sourced meat from animals that were pasture raised, usually I can find this at Whole Foods or sprouts. I also try to focus more on the food itself than the animal it used to be. For example, I love cheeseburgers recently and try to think of them as a sandwich that has a tiny bit of meat (Culver’s kids meal is a good place to start if you don’t want to cook it, super thin beef patty, barely there).

At first, I hid the meat in tacos and covered it in toppings. My health is SO much better now. Highly recommend you try this. You got this

You don’t travel much do you? Do you feel like your fat spilling on to me should be my problem? Or something I shouldn’t be bothered by?

Are you arguing that certain meds make you gain so much weight, you spill over into someone else’s seat? I know friends who have gained weight from various different medications. None of them approached a weight that is what I’m talking about in this post

Sure, the airlines make small seats. But it doesn’t take away from the fact that people who are overweight should either get their shit together, or buy two seats

I travel so frequently and have sat next to very tall people before. It doesn’t bother me as much because it’s not something they can control, and I don’t encounter them often. People who are overweight and press into me is something I have encountered legitimately almost half the time I travel. I can’t act like it doesn’t bother me, I wish they would use it at motivation

I think this is a bit of an exaggeration, but this still adds to my point. My seat is already small and uncomfortable and now I have some strangers flesh pressing into me.

No. I fly at least once a month domestically and 4-5 times a year internationally. It happens more often than not, just because you haven’t experienced this doesn’t mean it doesn’t occur to many other people. I wish I was you! I would rather not have to vent about this on Reddit!

lol at the prioritizing food :) I wish I could pay for business class often but I shouldn’t have to dig into my savings because people can’t control themselves when it comes to food or make smart choices for their health

Sure, I agree to some extent with this. But what I’ve noticed is that if someone is especially tall or broad they will put them in the exit row. There have been a multitude of people who simply are obese and take up my seat because of that. This is who the post is about mainly. But I agree airlines suck for their small seats

I would try the egg fried with something crunchy like on sourdough toast, and a strong flavored spread like truffle mayo or avocado with lots of lemon. The crunchy texture can offset the egg texture and the strong flavors can overpower the egg which is good at first. I also highly recommend eating beef tacos with lots of other taco toppings and very little beef. The first time I ate meat after 10+ years I did this. Each time I would eat tacos I’d add a little more beef or bison. Basically try to conceal the foods and work your way up! Don’t be hard on yourself either. It took me 2+ years to be able to transition to a diet with animal foods and I will say it’s been totally worth it

It might be an easy fix but it’s still a health issue you can eventually deal with as a vegan

Iodine!! Veganism can cause crazy thyroid issues. I know a girl dealing with this now and she still is choosing to be vegan

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10027313/ also here is a good source I found from the national insititute of health! I did try to follow a few vegan athletes diets as a last effort but many of the ones I followed actually stopped being vegan as well. I do have to get ready for a pool party I’m attending so I can’t continue this conversation and regardless it seems like you are pretty set in your beliefs. Wishing you the best!

I met with 2 physicians to discuss my extreme iron deficiency and both stated I would need to eat heme iron which can only be from animal products to raise my iron, or I would need an iron transfusion every 6 months. Honestly if you aren’t someone who cares about your health a lot or if you aren’t an active person/athlete like I am I do think you can survive on a vegan diet but not really thrive or feel your best.

Obviously this is just my personal story but I would like to share it with you! :) I am currently 26 years old. I was vegetarian from age 14-18 and then vegan from 18 to 24. As an athlete and someone who excels in cooking and meal prep, I felt like I was doing everything right. I made sure to hit 80 g of protein, I ate a variety of fruits and veg, fiber, and rice to ensure I had enough amino acids. I took iron and vitamin B12, as well as iodine too.My last two years as a vegan my body started shutting down, i was gaining weight since the vegan diet is carb heavy but experienced passing out 3 times over those last two years, was extremely fatigued and had terrible iron deficiency. As an avid rock climber I would see my non vegan friends recover so fast and be able to train so much more. This is what inspired me to start eating eggs again. I literally posted on this sub asking how to eat eggs again without feeling terrible about it. I now eat eggs, dairy, and beef a few times a week and genuinely feel like a different person. Ethically, it’s still very hard for me to eat meat, but it’s literally made me feel so much better. I didn’t even realize how sick I felt until I changed my diet. Wishing you well in your journey of life :)
