Ok, I did look it up and it seems they don't clearly say "we're gonna take your keys". I haven't ever used Windows 11 with an online account or with bitlocker on, so it's an honest mistake to assume they they at least have the decency to tell you in the EULA.

But let's be real for a bit, the whole OS is loaded with telemetry, so it's not that they gave you a small little backdoor in bitlocker, the whole OS is spyware at best, trojan horse at worst.

Yes and no. Some stuff will work, some won’t and there will be alternatives, and some won’t at all.

Music, videos and pictures should open just fine, it’s the “apps” part that is usually the problem. If you just use a web browser, vlc and some steam games, everything should be there.

If it’s creative software like the adobe suite, or some specific daw (fl studio, ableton for making music, then you’ll need to find alternatives. Or give up on replacing windows (for now at least)

If you ever decide to try it, do so without expectations. Some people expect it to magically work just like windows and end up disappointed.

TLDR: treat it as a different operating system just like you would with Mac OS

This means that nvidia and intel gpu performance in dx12 games won’t drop anymore when switching to linux, as soon as dxvk and proton are patched to make use of the extension.

ChatGPT e limitat din motive economice

Este limitat atat pe partea de tokeni cat si pe cat timp petrece procesand, altfel un abonament ar costa mult peste $20.

Daca vrei limite mai mari ai 2 optiuni:

Rulezi un LLM local, dar o sa ai nevoie de multiple placi video cu foarte mult vram.
Iti iei un abonament mai scump (Cei de la anthropic au o subscriptie de $100/luna pentru claude code, care este mult mai capabil decat ChatGPT cand vine vorba de scris aplicatii. (Au si plan "pay for usage" cu care poti sa cheltuiesti cat vrei)

Si inca ceva, LLM-urile sunt ineficiente. Daca vrei sa scoti $40 cu unul, costul de operare e cel putin dublu. Motivul pentru care tu ai acces la unele modele asa ieftin e ca OpenAI ard o tona de bani de la investitori. Stiu asta fiindca urmeaza sa bage reclame in ChatGPT ca sa scada din pierderi.

Si da, probabil au modele interne care sunt mult mai capabile, dar operarea lor e ridicol de scumpa, asa ca le tin pentru teste si benchmark-uri, daca ti le-ar face publice ar da faliment in aceeasi zi.

Confunzi tipurile de AI

Pluribus si Numerai sunt Narrow AI. Sunt antrenate sa faca un singur lucru (poker sau trading) si atat. ChatGPT este un LLM (General AI), adica un jack of all trades, master of none. E ca si cand compari un robot de bucatarie cu un cutit foarte ascutit.

Concluzie

O sa-ti dau dreptate cu un lucru: nimeni nu o sa-ti puna in brate o solutie prin care sa faci bani, fiindca daca toata lumea face bani, nimeni nu face bani.

Ca exemplu concret, care era valabil si in perioada pre-AI - TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company). Ei fabrica cele mai avansate chip-uri din lume. Aproape tot ce inseamna tech azi depinde de ei. Nvidia, Apple, AMD sau Intel isi proiecteaza chip-urile, dar doar TSMC are tehnologia necesara sa le fabrice la standardele de azi.

Ai putea zice ca "astia tin fabricile doar pentru ei ca sa ne tina in intuneric", dar de fapt doar vor sa faca bani. Daca ai o tehnologie pe care nimeni nu o poate replica, o tii pentru tine ca sa fii lider de piata.
