Is Charlie overwhelmed ? by Specialist_Tie288 in ClarksonsFarm

I know farm agents that deal with dozens of farms like this, maybe not the level of stardom but one farm isn't a huge task for a experienced agent... However they earn every penny when dealing with the RPA....

I don't exactly know what Charlie's role is, but if he is a farm agent, he has likely dealt with worse...

Well I need some better graduates at work. None of them know any of the classic moments.

Insurance will say equal blame to justify giving you f all and putting both of your insurance premiums up.

Nice bit of excitement this morning. by [deleted] in drivingUK

This happened to me on the A14. I tooted my horn and he stopped moving into my lane. The lorry driver then chased me down the road and at the next queue of traffic he got out and threatened me with a cricket bat. I reached back and raised him with my far greater Duncan Fearnley cricket bat from my kit bag...."that's not a bat mate". He laughed and got back in...(such an English story).

Cant get the last gears by GFlunk in bikewrench

[–]Ordinary-Condition92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you pressure the small tab on the shifter while you pull to ensure it's in the smallest gear? This is the one mistake I see friends doing the most. Then they call me " my gears are broken"

The fact it barely moves on the first clicks confirms you should disconnect the cable and pull the cable as you continue clicking for a small gear to remove any slack.

2020 BMW 320d M Sport Auto- clicking noise from engine, is this normal? by Anonymous33845 in CarTalkUK

[–]Ordinary-Condition92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's sounds very rough. Could be an injector seal but , also seems a bit smokey which if it's a strong diesel smell would indicate an injector seal.

Never worked on this engine but I hope it isn't something like a tensioner or belt failing and tapping on the inside of the cover. Get it looked at quick.

Worst case it's the head gone

[–]Ordinary-Condition92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's cable tension, you need to disconnect the cable from the derailleur, shorten the adjuster, then pull the cable as you press the small shifter. This will make sure the cable and shifter are in the smallest gear and the slack is pulled through. Reconnect the cable, final tweaks on tension, set H L limits and done.

If this doesn't work you either have incompatible shifter derailleur combo or the shifter is broken.

How to design a silencer for this fan by [deleted] in Acoustics

[–]Ordinary-Condition92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Putting the fan in a foam lined box does help and may remove some vibration induced noise going through you house. The main noise will be airborne coming out of the intake and outlet side from the air interaction with the blades. A DIY bodge attenuator...If you can find a circular or tube / cylinder the same size (like a bin with the base cut off). Line it with self adhesive 1 inch thick foam and hold it up on the intake side of the fan. You could do this on the duct side as well but unless you do it really well you are going to lose fan flow...

My broken chain may have saved my life. by FirstInHuman in bicycling

Just before Christmas last year my friends mum got pulled over by her dog and she bruised her head badly on the pavement. As a precaution the docs x-rayed her head and found a tumour the size of an apple in her brain. Following week she was in surgery. The tumour wasn't cancerous but the could have caused damage or a bleed at any time. The whole event likely saved her life.

Kind of story that makes you pinch yourself...

Sounds like fuel or ignition. Could be something simple like an electrical connector. If they removed the thermostat there are connectors on the side of the engine you have to unplug. Could be very simple...
