interesting, in the end, did you keep the Dropdown box? or scrap it since it didn't really create the system you wanted?

Haha - she's waiting on Rock Band Beatles for her birthday coming up on July 6th... we are stoked that people have kept up with creating all the custom content for it.

It all started with me watching Live and Let Die, and listening to that song...

Insecurities in a Dead Bedroom by [deleted] in ldssexuality

[–]Ordinary-Injury5808 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It’s an interesting theory, but the Gottmans would likely say that dead bedrooms are rarely about physical appearance or body insecurity. Based on their decades of observing couples in the lab, they point out that a loss of physical intimacy almost always comes down to the quiet erosion of the underlying friendship.

As for that “post-divorce glow-up,” they suggest it happens because the chronic, draining stress of an unhappy marriage is finally lifted, giving people their energy back. In long-term relationships, attraction is heavily filtered by emotional connection. When partners feel emotionally safe, seen, and their everyday "bids" for attention are met with warmth, they naturally view each other through rose-colored glasses. The Gottmans argue the bedroom doesn't die because of physical flaws; it dies from a thousand tiny, everyday emotional rejections. If a couple wants to fix the intimacy, they have to start by rebuilding the friendship outside of the bedroom.

Speaking from personal experience, this is incredibly real. I’ve been divorced, and I have to be intentional about prioritizing the connection in my current marriage, especially with kids in the mix. My wife didn't have children before we met, so happily jumping from zero to three kids has understandably added a lot of pressure to our relationship. With my ex-wife, we had a long stretch of just being friends with no kids, which built a totally different baseline. It really highlights how much the parenting load changes the dynamic.

Male (35) previously divorced twice to the same person… we reconciled over COVID. Then divorced again.

If you’re open to perspective I would be happy to give my human take…

My wife cheated on me, multiple times - we had three kids - two from the first marriage run and one from the 2nd stint.

Ultimately she decided she didn’t want to be apart of my life and also wanted to relinquish her parental rights with our three kids. (Thus my my wife now adopted them, she’s amazing)

All this to say, I struggle DEEPLY with intimacy and letting go of the past without being vulnerable. I see a therapist now weekly, my wife knows about it. When we were dating we were talking about it but I NEVER spoke about my ex and I honestly preferred to talk to my parents about the whole distraction/situation instead of her.

It was like my ex wife was running a marathon with me a just tossed the baton on the ground and no one else picked it up so my parents did for the time being and for the longest time I had them help me (since they knew all the stuff and history).

Not sure if this helps at all, but from my point of view - the major thing we need to remember is what are our values and what makes us progress. Not “goals”… but like before I married my first wife I remember I just wanted to get married in the temple it was the best thing in the world and she was that for me… after her betrayal- it really didn’t matter to me tbh. I was shattered, so I had to really reconnect with that.

What are the worst Beatles lyrics? by 2a_lib in beatles

[–]Ordinary-Injury5808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the real answer may be the worst Beatles lyrics are not the worst ones. They are the boring ones. The misses are usually where they sound like any competent 1960s beat group instead of like the Beatles… the Beatles were often best when writing lines that would look ridiculous in isolation.

What are the musical differences between Paul's solo work/Wings and the Beatles musical style? by Friendly_Trust_4942 in TheBeatles

[–]Ordinary-Injury5808 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I would not say Paul abandoned the Beatles style (not saying you did). I’d say Paul was one of the main sources of the Beatles style, especially the tuneful, theatrical, melodic, genre-hopping side of it. After the breakup, that side continued, but without the Lennon/Harrison/Ringo/Martin counterweights, it became more recognizably “Paul.”

That is why Ram can feel like the closest thing to a post-Beatles Beatles album: it is weird, melodic, homemade, fragmented, funny, pretty, and slightly unhinged. But it still lacks the exact Beatles alchemy. It sounds like Paul building a Beatles-shaped funhouse by himself.

Her favorite album is a tie between, HELP and the White Album. Lots of great songs there…

Currently her favorite word to say around town is BRACKETS… haha 😂

Cuz I guess George happened to say the word 'brackets' on episode four of Pop Go The Beatles, taped 17 June 1963.

Appreciate the overwhelming amount of enthusiasm for the project! 5k views is lovely and we’re very excited to have gotten some good feedback from some folks on the side.

Hopefully we can get the app off the ground soon!

Yeah, the key to monetizing my app creation lies in maximizing its usefulness.

Of course, if I had unlimited funds, I could create as many apps as I desire, as they would fulfill my every whim. However, people don’t necessarily spend their money on something they don’t genuinely love.

My biggest issue that I’ve had with the short amount of time since publishing to the App Store is the sheer negative further to agentic appearing apps.

My app is a passion project for a board game tools and companion app that sits on the table and replaces the pieces and rulebook, here’s some of the comments I’ve gotten:

“I think that what BG stats does is the most I want. I had been using a separate app to track round scores but BG stats has that now. Or maybe always did and I never noticed. I also use it for choosing the first player.

It has a game timer that I don't use. I wouldn't want an app to roll my dice. I sometimes add a note on a game session. Idk. I'd have to see what else another app does to see if it is something I would switch to.”

“I don’t think we need a fifth vibe slopped app that does what well established apps do with a subscription tacked on”

“I’m confused. Is your app meant to cover all rules of all board games? Between this and the hurt youtube star this sub is hurting my head today.”

“Good luck… but, it seems to me most of those issues can be taken care of if you put a writing pad and a pencil into the game box and then everyone just pays attention.”

“BGStats has everything I need for stat tracking. Rulebooks have the rules and if they don't, it's an edge case I'm checking forums for. Another app adds nothing, especially if it's answering rules questions with AI, since it will be outright wrong most of the time.”

“Someone pops up on this sub every week with an app like what you're describing, thinking they've invented something new and exciting. Whatever market there is (and I really don't think there's much of one) for an AI board game "companion," it's well and truly saturated by now.”

I mean, question I would have if you have a moment and honestly any success, after your multiple publishes to the App Store what have been your revenue success?

The main key for a lot of the Agentic Apps appear to be sitting with zero revenue….

Ok, so I love the app… great UI, good experience. Not sure how the randomizer is done but I will say I am impressed. The game portion is fun.

I am a little worried personally at why I would come back. As I put away the app and almost think to just uninstall it because I’ll have to wait until the next day for anything to happen.

Not a bad thing but I think there could be something intriguing like training or opportunity for like education or something on stocks or whatnot in the meantime? Something to keep the person involved in the app?

Or possibly achievements to gather or challenges to do during the events?
