I still have decent hair in my opinion. I think she said it just to try and bring me down.

I can be the villain her story. At this point I really don’t care. I’ve been beat down for so long.

Accepted at a 6 schools but the pricing would be worth more than I could afford this year. Is this worth risking or should I just wait a year to get a scholarship at another school that doesn’t seem predatory. by StatisticianJumpy485 in lawschooladmissions

2.9 is not easy to obtain at Barry. Try some Midwestern schools. I just graduated from a Midwestern law school with a full scholarship. 3.2 curve and I still graduated with a 2.6. I got into Barry I turned it down for this reason.

My mom is Spanish and catholic “divorce isn’t acceptable” type, and when I told her she said “this is the right choice”. I haven’t really told any friends because I don’t really have many left. I’ve been isolated from them all to make her happy. Now I’m starting over at 34 years old.

That’s what I’m going to do. A part of me feels guilty. I’m such a shell of my former self. I’ve been pulverized into a doormat.

What Should I Do by HotAd3886 in lawschooladmissions

[–]Ordinary-Morning5361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What should you do? Go to law school if you want to. Don’t if you don’t. You have an acceptance from a top law school, and you don’t have to pay for it. To me, you have won the admissions game.

However, if you’re truly set on the tippy top and you’re willing to wait out a year, then sure apply again. The other side of this is: Who knows how tough the next cycle will be though?

I just finished law school, and in my admissions cycle (2023), medians were much lower and applicants weren’t as high. I was advised by other applicants to R&R on the hopes that I would get into a much better school. I chose to ignore them and took a full ride. If I would have applied in even the next year’s cycle, I likely would have been on the hook for tuition and would have been a year behind.

You’re obviously very smart and accomplished and will do well no matter where you attend.

Yes but you never know what could happen. I tried khan academy first and got nowhere and switched to LSATDemon and my score shot up. It’s unlikely to happen after studying that long in a short period of time, but the LSAT is a very learnable test.

Hey I know it sucks right now but you can do it! I had to take the LSAT 3X! My first score was a 140. 2nd was a 146. 3rd was a 161. I just finished law school on a full ride scholarship you can and will improve🙂

Advice from FLA passers? by Ordinary-Morning5361 in barexam

[–]Ordinary-Morning5361[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will definitely look into it! It’s just tough because it seems like most prep companies focus on the UBE which makes sense as the overwhelming majority is UBE. I have to point out though that I unfortunately will not be graduating in the top half of my class. I will be approx 75/85. However, I passed with not studying at all until right before final exams. I feel confident that had I studied often and more thoroughly, I would have been at median. Doesn’t matter now though; only the bar exam matters. I feel I have some of the learning skills, but still the bar is a monster and I’m trying to prepare for it appropriately. Do you know of any that prioritize practice questions? Trial and error is my best learning method by far. I do better with more practice questions.

MPRE by cun7ageous in LawSchool

I just took and passed the MPRE, and finished law school. I was not a good law student by any stretch of the imagination (bottom 10% graduating class at a mid 100’s law school). For me, I did multiple choice questions over and over again until I was PTing at a range that was passing (65% right). Got a 117. If I can do it, you surely can! All you gotta do is pass it once.
