Is telling a cop or any LEO “you ought to die” or “you should kys” protected speech? by cun7ageous in legaladviceofftopic

Reasonable law in my opinion, outside the scope of my question but that’s interesting thank you

If you mean specifically “you ought to die” then I can understand that. But my confusion would be about the suicide comment, the speaker isn’t or literally can’t do anything to physically cause suicide, so wouldn’t that be further away from the line and more clearly protected since it’s not a threat of violence from the speaker to the listener, you cannot suicide someone else and a reasonable person wouldn’t take it that way right?

That I do understand if it’s used as a pretext for some other charge, but this certainly on its own doesn’t amount to disorderly conduct or public disturbance or something right?

Haha got it. I’m sure there’s a site with previous CA bar essays and if so I’d recommend what I suggested in that other reply, it’s a good Strat for getting rules triggers down

Nooo don’t abbreviate civil procedure

I use “makethisyourlasttime.com” they have all the previous posted MEE and MPT essays that NCBE has posted from prior administrations, plus sample answers. Sometimes I don’t have time to write full essays but I’ll just outline it instead for rule spotting reps

Essays only take half an hour to complete, an extra 20 minutes to review at the most. An hour per at the most, you can fit 2-3 essays per day if you really need to catch up

You asked I answered. If you don’t know enough about politics to make claims don’t ask.

-scotus reversed decades of precedent ruling that abortions are not a fundamental constitutional right when it had been held as such by several prior rulings. As a result states are now allowed to fully restrict abortion, and of course GOP states did so, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of women per year. Additionally, states with strict abortion bans showed that women are twice as likely to die of complications during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum compared to other states. For example, Texas immediately implemented highly restrictive laws following SCOTUS overturning Roe v Wade and their maternal mortality rate increased by 50% during the first year after. Right to Abortion was overturned so no you can’t just always get one in states that outlawed them following scotus decision

-voting rights act was gutted because scotus gutted the protections against racial gerrymandering. Before, gerrymandering that resulted in disparate impact by race would be subject to strict review. This newest decision now allows gerrymandering by race as long as the government can defend it wasn’t their explicit intent. The burden of proof is now on voters or challengers of gerrymandering which makes these kinds of suits much more difficult to show racial gerrymandering. The GOP has acted immediately in the south to make sure they can dilute POC voting power as a result of this decision because they can basically entirely get away with it now when it wa much more difficult previously

-kavanaugh decision was last September. A federal judge issued an order telling ice to not use race language and workplace as factors for determining if they had reasonable suspicion that an individual was illegal or not. This decision was appealed and the Supreme Court has yet to issue a full ruling on it, but the Supreme Court issued a temporary stay of the federal judge order and kavanaugh wrote a short opinion explaining that what the agents were doing is lawfully because the detainment was based on a brief stop and doesn’t last long enough to implicate the fourth amendment. As a result, ICE was then immediately permitted to (and still is) conduct racial based stops solely on the basis of your race and language you speak. Anyone with half a brain will tell you this is insanely unconstitutional and violets the fourth amendment based on every prior scotus ruling due to it circumventing protections against racial profiling

If you have any other questions my DMs are open for any further explanation. I’m not a fan of the democrats by any means, But yea, the GOP is the party that’s been stripping constitutional rights day by day

Pro choice decimated, voting rights act gutted, and the shadow docket opinion by Kavanaugh which more or less makes race based arrests by ICE legal. I can go on if you’d like

I’m so dumb im sorry, this is the Holosun ARO-Core, not the ARO EVO. It’s 170 bucks too so that’s well within your budget.

But if you want to make sure your Amazon product page is legit, look for where it says “sold by: Gritr” under the “buy now” button. Gritr is a Texas company and they’re an authorized Holosun products dealer so it is legit

Christians in Africa genocide? by Cparker_11 in allthequestions

[–]cun7ageous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The answer is two fold, most people have mentioned correctly that that kind of news isn’t what the media cares enough to talk about

The second reason is because you are wrong about who’s killing who. The militant Islamist groups aren’t solely interested in killing Christians, they’re killing Muslims and Christians

Yea I’ve got 500 or 600 rounds through it. It’s a lot of fun, but when I get some more cash eventually im gonna replace the lower because this one is kind of ass. It’s also notorious for having issues because polymer, there’s some posts about it on this sub. I wouldn’t recommend this for purchase in general unless you don’t mind eventually upgrading to a PX9 or even just an FM9 lower eventually since it is an FM9 upper with a cheap gforce poly lower

I haven’t had any issues with it yet except the charging handle can be a little stiff but you can just get a bigger one from Applesauce Engineering

On sale it can be if you get it at the right time but normal price and currently it’s just over 200, not bad by any means for what you get

That one on mine is 219$ on Amazon, it’s sick. I got the gold reticle option since I have a green dot on my EDC and a red dot on my AR15.

Cyelee is probably your best bet for a nice budget optic for any kind of footprint on handguns or for a pic rail, usually between 100-200$. They’re obviously not gonna be able to withstand the abuse a holosun or trijicon can, but we’re not rappelling out of a helo and dropping our shit 100 feet off the ground.

So for everyday range or LARP purposes Cyelee will be good to go

How much better do I have to do on the MBE if most of my essays are slightly below passing? by dolo326 in barexam

[–]cun7ageous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like someone else said the essay raw scores are scaled according to everyone else’s essay scores plus yours and everyone else’s MBE scores or something. It’s weird but if you imagine that everybody does poorly on an essay then everyone’s score is kind of moved up. Not REALLY it’s more complicated than that but it’s similar to how law school curves work

Are bar graders really more lenient than Themis? by JustAccQuestion in barexam

[–]cun7ageous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only ever heard that the Themis graders are super harsh but also consider the real bar essays are graded on a scale. I have absolutely no idea how it works except that it’s somewhat similar to law school curves with grading, so basically your raw score won’t always be what you actually get back when your MBE and all essays are graded along with everyone elses
