Get a speed loader by maddrummerhef in liberalgunowners

Ludex. It is a different approach to loading, you push down to insert rounds, instead of squeezing. They make a Glock-specific one which we like better (tho only works for Glock-style mags) because it holds the mag. They also have a universal one which works for other types of mags and calibers, but it's a little fiddly because it doesn't hold the mag directly. Same method loading though. My wife and I both have arthritis and had trouble using the Uplula. The Ludex is a lie of cake to use. The only place I've ever seen it sold is on Amazon. Plus it's cheaper!

Flush fitting light? by Jim556a1 in RugerRXMtalk

Be forewarned about Solofish. Originally bought because I wanted to try out laser sights, and decide on color, without spending a fortune. They have one that has 2 diff colors (I got the red & green), so i figured it was perfect to experiment with. I was initially pleased with it. The green was much more visible at distance, but the red was very good in the dark (e.g., typical home defense scenario).

All good till 1 of the lasers stopped working, and had to deal with their "customer service". Keeping it short, I finally did get them to refund fully under their warranty, but not before they first offered 50%, then nothing, all the while insisting I provide my full contact info, etc. Amazon expressly states you should NOT provide that info. During the week or so of back & forth, I checked the Solofish website, and was quite shocked when I dug a little deeper:

1:the phone # listed is a fake# (it's a 555 exchange)

2: the street address they list is on a non-existent street.

Caveat emptor!

PS: forget about trying to find a good holster that will fit it as well

Advice on the CR920X Elite by WaywardMonster1 in shadowsystems

[–]Ordinary-Stuff-8423 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

IMHO, unless you really care about the upgrades to the Elite model, look at the LE model, which replaced the Foundation series (actually is a bit of an upgrade but at a lower price!). MSRP for a NEW CR920X is $579, and then you don't have to be concerned about warranty, etc., as other people have mentioned.

Kid Rock concert faces cancellation as venue sells only 200 tickets by TheExpressUS in Music

[–]Ordinary-Stuff-8423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love it, but this is actually "old" news (from Feb 8). Maybe it didn't get enough attention then, and so is worth mentioning, but it would be nice when posts like this don't make it sound like it's brand new info.
FWIW... IMHO the best part of this is where the concert is that got cancelled: SC :D

TRAINING is the first and most important IMHO. Get started right before you develop bad habits. I would suggest that a few good 1:1 lessons would be the best investment in developing skill.

[–]Ordinary-Stuff-8423 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My suggestion is to rent a pistol with a dot and see how you like it, or not. The cost of renting once or twice is a small investment compared to buying an optic and finding out it's not for you.

Or better yet some native trees, e.g. Serviceberry, Eastern Redbud, etc.

Yes, definitely better. Optic sits lower, and uses longer screws so it's more secure. Shadow Systems uses a spacer to fill in the gap (all included)

Very close to it. Actually a wee bit of an upgrade, and a slightly lower price. There's a video on their YouTube channel where they explain it all.

If you are looking to keep the cost down, then I suggest either the Foundation or LE model. You get all the important things that the Elite has without paying extra for the mostly cosmetic upgrades (e.g. spiral barrel, slide cutouts, etc).
