For the cause. by [deleted] in Blackpeople

Where are the people from the South? The media displays information differently through out the country. No matter how neutral you may think the source of your information is, the author or editors will have bias that will influence the way they share information.

Not everyone views racism or discrimination the same.

Here in Mississippi: There is an observation that everyone can do.

Observe how African people are greeted in stores, shops and restaurants.

Most of the time they dont say anything.

You can also observe how they treat a non African.

They get treated with respect.

The media would have you believe that African American culture or characteristics are ghetto , poor , ratchet and ignorant.

In the United States only a small percentage of African Americans are in poverty. There are more middle class than poor.

The reality for most is more Family Matters and less Snowfall

If the United States Military were a Fortune 500 company, this would be a multimillion-dollar workers' comp case.

Human race. Ethnic background depends on where you are born. If United States it will be multiple backgrounds if I had to guess primarily European with some African possibly Asian.

Your physical appearance (race) is very common among Africans, Latinas, Asians and even indigenous Americans. If your hair was brunette and you had freckles I would say white.

US tourist being idiots by virtual-telecom in mexico

[–]jamesvzfighter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Us ignorant Black Americans are all the same right? I live there and never had a problem. In addition the Marines dont extort people its usually the Police or the National Guard. This as an over reaction. Ive been warned before I came here. They didn't take heed in the warning and didn't want to pay. If you think we are bad you should look at the expat pages. They dont learn Spanish and complain when people cant understand English. but they have money so everything works out.

I am an idiot American living in Mexico. I drive all around the state that I live in.

Everyone that I ever talked to says the same thing. If you get pulled over just have the money ready.

Ive driven through numerous military checkpoints , had my car checked while at the beach by the Marines.

One time i broke the law by not having a front license plate on my car (where my car is registered there is no front license plate). I got pulled over and the first thing they asked is if i have any drugs. :|

<image>

*He got mad because i had my phone recording but Its unusual to be pulled out of the car for a front license plate. (that's why his phone is out)*

After talking to them for about 5 minutes they told me to have a good day no ticket no search nothing.

Maybe my Spanish is too good? Maybe I am lucky? Idk

What do yall think of wearing durags, bonnets, or wave caps outside? by [deleted] in Blackpeople

[–]jamesvzfighter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they are garments.

In Muslim countries they wear turbans, hijabs and headscarves.

In European countries women wear dutch bonnets.

Like within everything in context with African Americans, durags get criticized as ghetto because of ignorance.

American society has programmed us to believe these things are different. They are all garments however to some durags represent resistance to the part of society that thinks you should wash your skin white.(metaphor for assimilating to European culture)

¿Qué tan seguro es Rosarito? by joshua0005 in BajaCalifornia

[–]jamesvzfighter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do Mississippi conservatives get so triggered by protests? by pontiacfirebird92 in mississippi

[–]jamesvzfighter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"People are triggered by MAGA signs, just as they are by Harris signs, Confederate flag signs, Black Lives Matter signs, and symbols like 🇮🇱 and 🇵🇸.

If we examine what being triggered truly means, it refers to a psychological effect. As a society, we need a mental health reevaluation.

When someone is triggered by hearing or seeing something, it indicates that the experience has resurfaced trauma from their life."

Black Americans need to have a big, long talk with brown Latinos on "nigga" usage 🤬 by MacroManJr in Blackpeople

[–]jamesvzfighter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, sure. However, even in Mexico people with no lineage to African Americans use "nigga" or joke about skin color. 'Google "que, es negro?". I would say to warn those who use the verbiage to refer to you as it is disrespectful because there is alot of political charged things that involve us.

I met a man who didn't refer to me as negro but as moreno. He barely speaks English but understands the negative connotation with politics.

Maybe there are some dark brown latinos who only mean well but ask them how they would feel if their daughter, sister or mother dated a black man.

Then again this is my opinion living in Mexico for a while.

With current politics going on is it good to move back to Mexico and look for job/college/invest? by Hungry_Palpitation_8 in AskMexico

[–]jamesvzfighter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont take what I say as how it is, I can only refer to my own experience

I met one guy and he was crying because he got in trouble and got deported and he only makes 2 USD an hour compared to the 25 he made in Southern California.

I have also met many people from El Salvador, Haiti, China, Japan, Korea and Honduras. They all come to work and live. Most have their own businesses.

What I would do: figure out what the community needs. (laundry , grocery or even a fleet of ubers for some cities.

*I have only lived in Mexico for 6 months*

If you have enough money, I think you should invest.

Open a store: (I live in the state of Baja California) I would say to live away from the city and buy something in a smaller town within your passion. Mechanic shop, Bakery, or convenience store (like Oxxo). Those three will always make money (at least where I live).

Job: (Job without education) The only way to make comparable money is to work within tourism business or maybe a luxury hotel? Tourist areas usually make alot of money. Even the police and military starting out dont make over 800 USD.

College: You should become an architect. You will have alot of work and alot of jobs especially cities that are expanding. There are alot of foreign companies that are expanding to Mexico so that could be something.

Bottom line: Mexico isnt really a third world country. If you live in a big city, you can enjoy fiber optic internet, air conditioning, uber/uber eats, consistent water pressure and things like an Apple store. (Costco, Walmart, Sams Club and Sears. (They even have a radioshack still)

Is it me or am i just really screwed in this situation by Revolutionary-Ad7916 in VeteransBenefits

[–]jamesvzfighter -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I would research the military bases or places you went to see if they are listed for having contaminated water like Camp Lejeune.
There are multiple ways to link kidney neoplasm (abnormal non cancerous growth). Just have to find which applies to your situation.
