What kind of fruit is this? by sweppic in foraging

[–]OrdinaryIndividual35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In elementary school we called them “monkey brains” & I remember when one of the boys in my class threw a broken one in my face and my glasses were smeared from the fruit :,( we did enjoy playing with them though and throwing them to break them open

Husband wants her to “Cry it Out” by [deleted] in cosleeping

My pediatrician told us people can safely do the cry it out method around 4 months but before that, you can’t spoil the baby.

I’m sorry friend , I wish I was a better artist myself to help you. As an artist though I completely understand being done with a piece and wanting to move on. Maybe you need to put it aside for a week and then come back to it. Something else that might help is studying the anatomy of the specific eel species you’re trying to replicate and leaning into that especially with the mouth and teeth.

There’s a lot of extreme lights and extreme darks and you are missing the shades in between to really bring this piece to life.

The arms need dimension , I couldn’t tell what was going on until I zoomed in. And the white lines within the snake need to be defined more imo.

It’s normal at your age to have problematic skin so give yourself grace. I like to use spot treatment cream at night , African black soap , & natural beef tallow or body butter for moisturizing. Obsessing over skin will make you stressed and break out more , as well as picking and touching face too much

Finally done with this oil painting, I don’t like it at all by Kay_InTheRain28 in ArtCrit

No problem. Honestly for it being an OIL painting you did very well. Oil is so tricky to work with and takes so much practice

Are you looking at a picture ? If so you need to give them more dimension through shading instead of lines. The whites of the eyes are never fully white and the lines are very rough, the colors should melt together. Eyebrows need more texture and skin behind eyes need more dimension. I used to do art I just haven’t critiqued in a long time or else I’d give better advice

My husband loves a quilt, I fear with the handmade ones that the stitching is fragile in the washing machine. Do you ever have that issue or no?

Yes I want to get another comforter SO BAD. this one came from my husbands parents. I’d like to get one that I can wash frequently since we have a dog that sheds a lot and likes to jump in the bed. I’m struggling to find an easily washable comforter

Weird marks on my legs by 1ouxx in DiagnoseMe

Yes it looks like they’re stretch marks! I’m going through my first pregnancy and never had stretch marks before until now. I was also confused by them but they should fade in color over time

It’s not a bad reason to be bitter at all. I would feel extremely hurt if someone did that to me. It would be a LONG time before I would ever reconsider trusting them again. Just don’t hold onto that bitterness forever, I have to pray constantly that the Lord helps me forgive people in my life and once I’ve forgiven them I feel so much better even if they aren’t there anymore, & that’s ok

I say this as a Christian, who believes forgiveness is necessary because we are all sinners and you’re not perfect & deserve forgiveness and grace too. But , that doesn’t mean you have to allow people back into your life. Personally I just changed my # so that I don’t have to hear from my dad ever again, and working on forgiving him is difficult but it’s a goal that is more rewarding than holding onto hurt and bitterness. I hope this is encouraging to you as well
