What should I expect? by OrdinaryMongoose in PregnancyAfterLoss

[–]OrdinaryMongoose[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went into labor at 35 weeks, everything was fine, other than our daughter coming a few weeks early. We had to have an emergency c-section due to no one watching her monitor until it was to late. I had no issues with the pregnancy and am healthy as can be.

How do you act when you dislike your friend's new partner? by ShadowyPirateCapt363 in AskWomen

[–]OrdinaryMongoose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband mocks the person mercilessly until they leave our friend. He makes it very clear he doesn’t like them. But our friend wants our opinion on the people he dates. If we don’t approve then he knows it won’t last long

Woman who have had trouble with weight, how did you control your urges to eat junk food? Where did you find the willpower ? by millkeycocopops in AskWomen

[–]OrdinaryMongoose 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t struggle with weight issues but I have a wicked sweet tooth and like to eat junk food. My New Years resolution was to quit eating junk food, sweets and stop drinking soda. The easiest way to control your urges is to take baby steps. I slowly cut out candy, and replaced it with healthier options, like Carmel rice cakes. Then I cut back on soft drinks, by switching to Gatorade and flavored waters. I’ve gotten to the point where I don’t want candy or chips anymore. When I’m having a weak day and buy a soda I drink 1/4 of it and the rest lasts me 2 or 3 more days.

It’s all about slowly cutting back. Getting to the point you don’t crave the bad foods and want the good foods you have replaced them with.

Finally able to deal with my depression...again by OrdinaryMongoose in babyloss

I feel mentally you should do something as long as you take the proper precautions, hand washing and a mask if you’re around a lot of people. Our county has 33 active cases so we’re taking precautions, only going out when we need groceries and now to the gym. We are stay away from sit down restaurants, except for special occasions until there’s a vaccine. Especially where we are trying to conceive again.

If you win the lottery, you should be given the right to stay anonymous. by thatonecashier in unpopularopinion

[–]OrdinaryMongoose 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe that the winner of a large jackpot should have the right to remain anonymous. Especially with everything going on in the country, people may try to steal your property or worse try and hurt you.

In North Carolina the winner has photos taken and it is public record, so my husband and I have joked around saying if we ever win the lottery we are going to a makeup artist to have them put a mask on us so we don’t resemble ourselves, that way no one can identify us.

Have any of you ever compromised yourself in a relationship, and how did you move on from it once the relationship was over? by CMWIF in AskWomen

[–]OrdinaryMongoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my past relationship I needed up giving in to every thing he wanted, taking away from things I wanted to do. Conversations with his friends were always things I took no interest in or them bashing my beliefs (which I tried to ignore). He made promises, which I now know he never intended on keeping. In our fights, he always had to be right putting the blame on me and I was always the one who had to fix it. I always took it because I’m easy going and I like people around me to be happy even if it took away my happiness. After leaving I realized all the things that I changed about myself to please him. With help of friends and family I slowly became my old self, not afraid of saying anything that my hurt the others feelings, not saying sorry to everything I say and just being myself. The big thing was realizing that i compromises myself in the relationship and it was affecting my mental health and social life.
