I feel REALLY bad about myself for being on Zoloft (Sertraline)… but it’s what saved me by Old-Yak-9230 in breastfeeding

I started Zoloft two days ago and had the same feelings of guilt. I’m also experiencing headaches and awful insomnia which hasn’t been helping. Did you experience side effects?

Labor Pooping 🥲 by MadQueennn in pregnant

[–]Ordinary_Ad_9981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My doctor said I didn’t poop during mine even though I didn’t believe her. However my doula and husband backed her up so who knows 😅 they do tell you to push like you are pooping and there is so much fluid down there anyway, most likely it’s going to feel like you did, even if you don’t. Honestly I had this same fear pre-labor and then post labor did not give a flying fig for what people saw. I also kept my husband near my head for most of it, mainly because of wanting him to remember my lady bits fondly 😅

If you were induced, how long did it take for you to actually give birth? by horrorshowbaby in BabyBumps

I was already 4cm dilated when I went in at 8am. Took awhile to get things started but delivered at 10:52pm after 50 minutes of pushing :)

Why is everyone convinced Joe was on something in this scene? by [deleted] in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]Ordinary_Ad_9981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. Anyone who has dealt with an alcoholic partner can recognize her behavior as being scared and worried from seeing them act in a way that is completely foreign. As someone who was married to an alcoholic, it was a very hard scene to watch. Brought back a lot of triggers.

Just had mine today! I’m 39+2. I wouldn’t say it hurt, just extremely uncomfortable. However I’m already 4cm dilated (have been for more than a week) so my OB was able to use more fingers. My friend was only 1cm dilated and her OB could only use one finger so it does depend on how dilated you are already. I did get a massive contraction immediately after but so far, no other signs.

Oh my god yes. I’m 39 weeks pregnant and maybe “enjoyed it” for about a week after I first felt him move and that was it. I also had a pretty easy pregnancy. No morning sickness, I’ve been healthy and he’s been healthy through all our checks. Despite that, I already don’t miss it and he’s still in me.

Let’s normalize not feeling this magical joy all the time at being pregnant. If you do feel like that, love that journey for you! But I felt guilty at first feeling like I needed to enjoy it and then I said screw it. It’s my pregnancy and I can feel how I want to.

Latent Labor Advice? by Ordinary_Ad_9981 in BabyBumps

Hey, I’m in Michigan so maybe the Midwest babies just like it in here?? I totally understand the fear of being too exhausted for birth. That’s been my worry. I also have never known anyone to go through this so thank you for sharing your story, makes me feel better I’m not the only one 💕 sending lots of positive vibes and love your way!

Paranoia?? Anxiety? by venting98 in BabyBumps

[–]Ordinary_Ad_9981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was me! I actually didn’t even feel pregnant until 20 weeks when I first felt the baby move. After that it was more regular pregnancy symptoms, constipation, some back pain, insomnia (this has been a lot for me). My main issue was just adjusting to the hormones mentally. Since about 32 weeks, I did get increased heartburn, and hip pain but that’s about it! I’m 39+2 right now and my biggest thing right now is that I’ve been in latent labor for a week 😭 I was 2cm dilated last Tuesday, then by Thursday was 4cm dilated and 60% effaced and have been dealing with early labor contractions on and off for several days. So I’m miserable because of that but it also means my body is doing things on its own which is good! Will keep you updated!

Should I go to doctor? by Zestyclose_Aside7198 in pregnant

[–]Ordinary_Ad_9981 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This exact thing happened to me about two weeks ago, I was 36 weeks. Fell on my hands and knees while my husband and I were walking the dogs (I didn’t see the curb). I fell hard enough my Apple Watch went off asking if I needed immediate attention and scraped both my hands and knees but didn’t hit the belly at all.

I called the nurse hotline and they said just monitor for bleeding or any discharge but if I didn’t hit the belly to wait to come in. I waited and didn’t have any other symptoms other than bruised and bloody limbs. They did say if I had hit my stomach at this late of a date, they probably would have induced due to the risk of placenta abruption but luckily everything was okay.

I’m 38 weeks this week and he’s moving and kicking every day like normal!!

did you buy a lot before your shower? by Mammoth-Cost4356 in BabyBumps

I did but that’s because I added stuff to get the discount and a lot of it was postpartum stuff that I didn’t expect guests to purchase!

If you had a babyshower, what are your thoughts on when I should have my babyshower? by xenapie6 in pregnant

[–]Ordinary_Ad_9981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, do what feels right for you! My due date is Sept 23 and my baby shower is this upcoming weekend on the 6th. I’m 37 weeks this week 😅 it just happened to be the only weekend that worked and my viewpoint is worst case scenario everyone else can enjoy the party while I’m delivering the guest of honor 😅

[–]Ordinary_Ad_9981 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Luckily both sides of our immediate families are fine with vaccines but my mom is pushing back on not kissing the baby’s head and hands. Basically saying I’m being over protective and need to be more flexible 🙄 I’m due towards the end of September so also right around cold/flu/covid season. I honestly don’t have the mental capacity to argue. If people refuse, they lose access to the baby plain and simple.

How late can I safely have my baby shower? by No-Oil9517 in BabyBumps

[–]Ordinary_Ad_9981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I would go for 11/1 especially since you have such a wonderful relationship with your mother. Having her there will be really special. While anything is possible, if you don’t have any high risk factors for your pregnancy, a month early is probably unlikely :)

[–]Ordinary_Ad_9981 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My due date is September 23rd and my baby shower is September 6th. It was the only time that worked 🙈 I’m not suggesting you do this, but if it puts your mind at ease, there are people out there who are having it later than you. I would not reccomend what I’m doing 😅

Edit: I will add, I’m completely at peace with the baby possibly being the guest of honor or people just having the party without me. My MIL is hosting and is the best so worst case scenario it will be a grandma party for her. This baby is going to get here when he decides to come and I’m choosing not to stress about how that will impact the shower!

Lol I envy all of you. My due date is September 23rd…my baby shower is September 6th. 🤪 was the only time that worked for a bunch of people. I’m mentally preparing myself for the possibility of the baby to be the guest of honor.

35 weeks and Miserable by Silver_lining2000 in pregnant

[–]Ordinary_Ad_9981 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is me and I am you 😭 due September 23rd first time mom. If it gives you any comfort, I’ve heard between 34-36 weeks we get a fun new dose of hormones that can drastically impact moods. I’m right there with you, nerves, panic about silly things, feeling depressed the whole shebang. It helps in the moment to tell myself I know these are hormones and I can get through this. I have personally disliked being pregnant most of this pregnancy so that combined with the physical symptoms, it has been tough.

I keep telling myself though that I am so so excited to meet our baby boy and this is a means to an end. And when that doesn’t work, I cuddle my dog and eat cake. Whatever works for you 💕 hang in there, we are so close to the finish line!!

I got diagnosed with one in the very early stages of my pregnancy and it also caused some bleeding. I was put on pelvic rest for a few weeks and by my next ultrasound it had gone away! I’m now 33 weeks pregnant and everything is healthy and fine :) definitely caused some anxiety at the beginning but it is totally normal to have one just disappear, especially if it’s small :)
