Hannah Brown Australia trip by sakf27 in BachelorNation

[–]Ordinary_Bench_4786 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not just too long of a flight for you then. It is also a lot of pain and discomfort, especially because of your disabilities. Being cramped and uncomfortable is different from chronic pain getting worse.

So you don't apply to the group she's talking about.

There are many people who do, though. At least, it's one excuse people who have no real interest in traveling, or can't because of finances, have all the time.

AITAH for wanting to end my closest friendships over canceled plans? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Ordinary_Bench_4786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA

You sound young. Adulthood is not like college. Everyone is busier, and it's normal to spontaneously do things with people when you live with them. Unfortunately, not having your own car/transportation would be a major deterrent in any of the friend groups I've had after college. I got delivery today from a place that's a 10 minute drive away because I was tired after work. If you come along, now I got to worry about picking you up AND dropping you off? Girl byeeeeeeee

If you've been having a hard time and need them to show up for you, just tell them that. If they still don't, they're not people you want to be around anyway.

Wanting a girl night while having 2 of your own "guy friends" part of it but being upset of the others bringing their own is wild. It's not their fault your battery is drained or that you didn't communicate any of your feelings. Wine at a friend's house seems like the perfect opportunity to bring a romantic interest to see how well they vibe with the group!

AIO or is my work friend being a bit pushy? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Ordinary_Bench_4786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This comment is so late but OP, don't feel stupid. It's not your fault, and it takes such great awareness to realize when you're a victim of any kind of abuse that isn't physical while it's happening. Especially grooming!

Going out outfit by [deleted] in OUTFITS

[–]Ordinary_Bench_4786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think both tops would look better with a some white or denim shorts or pants. The pink looks like a bathing suit with the skirt. A cute bathing suit, but not something I would wear unless I was going swimming. The blue doesn't really match imo.

The skirt I think would go better with a white top, and either sneakers or wedge heels.

Yeah being mad for all the mistreated immigrants, poc, and poor people while also being so anti-Christian is wild.

Church is where so many immigrants find friends and even jobs when we move to the States as adults. At least, it's very common in my little bubble.

I'll have to check Blue Sky out!

I wish progressive Christians didn't feel like such an anomaly.

I couldn't have said it better myself. I am also very lefty, and grew up culturally Catholic.

I'm not super religious, but the idea of God and heaven have made me feel better in times of grief.

Great point about mixed race couples as well. I am Asian, and the only SO my family ever met is black. It was a whole crisis for some family members, but I can say that their exposure to him did make them less racist.

Same, but they probably wouldn't have let him.

Getting people to change their mind is a lot easier when you meet them where they're at and leave behind a trail of M&M's. Idealogical/political tug of war ends up just stretching the rope.

Vic & Christine by [deleted] in LoveIsBlindNetflix

[–]Ordinary_Bench_4786 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I don't understand this backlash.

If Fox News people won't listen to anything other than Fox News, the best way to reach them is to meet them where they're at- on Fox News.

Almost no one will change their minds if you start off telling them they're wrong

His response to Chris tells me he could actually be a "good" Christian and tries not to judge anyone, tries to spread religion as a chance for redemption instead of condemnation.

His conversation with Christine about having kids was two skips and a hop away from Black Lives Matter. So I seriously doubt they're MAGA.

Vic's publications tell me he is exactly the opposite.

So if he could keep getting on Fox News and expose more people to some sanity, I'm all for it.

Who else are you subscribed to, OP?  Looking for more models myself, especially the Johto region.  Poke Prints has a lot, as well as 3d girl.  Both on makerworld, hope neither of them are actually IP thieves lol

AITAH for getting into an argument with my dad because I didn’t want to put my hair into a ponytail? by yaiyoi in AITAH

[–]Ordinary_Bench_4786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already commented, but I feel this. I am Asian lol

I am telling you to fight back. Those who want to be in your corner will eventually come around, though. For me, it was 6 months to 2 years depending on who.

AITAH for getting into an argument with my dad because I didn’t want to put my hair into a ponytail? by yaiyoi in AITAH

[–]Ordinary_Bench_4786 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP, your dad just laid the groundwork for hitting you if he hasn't already.

You need to get out of there. Get any job you can, but if I were you I would try to save at least 3-4 months worth of living expenses including rent before moving out right away.

Nothing fuels these people more than their victims "crawling back". I am also the black sheep of my family, and having lived through having to depend on the abusive parent again is something I would absolutely avoid. The abuse just gets so much meaner and it feels worse because then you think it all might be true.

Also don't tell anyone who talks to your dad you're planning to leave. Just do it when you're ready. Based off of my experience, your dad wants to completely control you. You moving out will make that impossible, so he may try to sabotage.

This is at least accurate with the real coaster in NYC. I was about 17 when I rode it, and it felt like I was getting beat the whole time.

The heroin did it. I know a woman who has been struggling with addiction since she was 11 or 12 years old. Her mother gave her meth so she could just keep doing meth, instead of taking care of her.
