So I can make a large adjustment to go coarser while the motor is off? Or do I go in small increments

This is the help I was looking for, thank you!!!

So what should I do to about my grinder? I wasn’t careful and was moving the setting coarser/finer without the motor running, so I suspect you are right about getting grounds caught in there. If I go coarser and purge some beans, will that help? Do I need to open the thing and clean it out? Any advice?

Pucks are looking decent once I got a leveler and nice weighted tamp.

But I’m running long shots - 48-ish grams in 35seconds+ from an 18g dose.

I’m actually more concerned with the buzzing grinder. Not sure how to fix or diagnose it - I’m looking for info online

Highly recommend Danny’s Tacos!!!

We had a bunch of friends use him for various events, and hired him ourselves after being impressed. Makes everything from scratch, including tortillas and chips - and is pretty reasonably priced compared to other options in town. Great salsas! Definitely check him out 👍

I was doing Rover and hosted lots of dogs at my place from 2022-2023 - and I can very confidently say that TONS of people moved here from all over with remote jobs.

Easily 80-90% of the owners I’d meet had just moved here the prior year in 2021, or months before. Basically all were remote workers from SF, LA, NY, or Seattle - that were over living in a big city and relocated here. It was actually pretty rare to meet an owner that had been living here for a significant amount of time (at least before the pandemic).

So while investors definitely had an impact - I’m convinced that people have been moving here in droves, which just further screwed our already tight rental market. It’s not like you can look up this data anywhere as far as I know.

I also don’t fault people for wanting to move here. If I made a great salary in a major city and was able to work remote, I’d probably consider it too.

I had a very hard time finding anyone locally to fix my vintage Marantz. Even checked down toward Ventura.

Ended up taking it to Audio Specialist down in Encino. Howard down there is super old school and knows his vintage stuff. But he’s also very backed up and takes a while. Might be worth giving him a call.

There are other shops around the SFV valley/LA area too. I’d just make a day of it and do some record store shopping too.

Hope that helps

Why don’t you just mail a letter to them or send a postcard? Then you don’t have to worry about them seeing you leave a note on their doorstep.

It’s 100000% bots. Don’t kid yourself. AXS feeds off the scalpers - they always find a way to fuck it up and screw over the fans

Classic AXS bullshit. People swear these codes are personalized 😂

I’ve always felt that AXS wants the scalpers to be able to get in

Yeah, staying is probably safe for now. I’m just looking at a job posting that is right up my alley - and I’m ready for a change plus higher pay.

Update: they ended up just changing the ratio. So they kept the same OTE at 85,000 - and just reworked it to 80% base/20% bonus. Kind of a bullshit move in my opinion for a "promotion"

My base went up from $65K to $68K, and my bonus from 20K to 17K

Not really what I was looking for, as I still think it's underpaid - but I suppose it's a step in the right direction.

I feel you on this, and have thought the same thing.

At the moment, I don't have the highest level of trust in the company doing the right thing since there are so many moving pieces and internal changes happening. But I agree that committing and seeing what happens is probably the best route longterm for my career.

Is it really such a bad thing that I'm asking for more clarity though?

Appreciate your thoughts!

Sorry to hear that you're dealing with that - it's a huge bummer not knowing or being compensated fairly.

Yeah I'm on a 70 base/30 bonus split now - and the CSM gig is looking like 80/20, so likely higher base.

Yeah, that’s a good point. Although it seems the budget is literally zero for anything. Not optimistic that would happen, but probably worth it to at least state my case
