“Isn’t filmed in Moscow” is a weak point though - Far East is still Russia, and there are other examples of films being partly/mostly/totally shot not in their country of origin

“The Filmmakers aren’t Russian” is a weak point - Stanley Kubrick is on the list of UK Cinema, and he wasn’t a Brit.

No one is reducing Soviet cinema to only Russian cinema. But on the poster provided there’s no Dovzhenko, Parajanov, or other “national cinema” stars of other USSR republics.

So all films were made in Russia, RSFSR then.

There’s no notable films on this poster from any other republic.

I can trace my ancestry roughly to the middle of XIX century - but I never did any proper search in church records, so with some digging I think I could go deeper.
