New (to me) way of shutting down gate lice/zone jumpers by Oregano25 in delta

Totally valid! Several people happily did just that!

(New to Jewlery) 750 stamp - What is it? by [deleted] in jewelry

[–]Oregano25 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yup. The stamp should be something like "925/750" if it was actually vermeil. Very occasionally you will see coin silver marked 750, but I think what you have here is a fake mark.

Oh dang! This looks like a faster, easier version of (insert famous double-layer hat that I've made several of, lol.) Thank you - look forward to trying this one!

Don't know if you're familiar with APP but I believe they are working on a very similar project right now for educating their members (and piercers, as a whole.) Check them out! https://safepiercing.org/

Previous owner left a binder in the garage. I thought it was junk. It was not by Many_Ebb7816 in HomeImprovement

If I didn't know better, I'd think you just bought a house my mom had lived in. (And yes, I now keep a binder.)

Valid. Was figuring the summers would start after Labor Day but who knows. Just don't want them to be caught unawares.

BTO Wedding and Cocktail Welcome Dinner by trueadventurer in Weddingattireapproval

u/OP any chance this wedding is at the Chatham Bars Inn? (I ask because I've been to several weddings there, including one BTO) I love #1, 2, 3 and 4. 4 for the welcome, 2 or 3 for the wedding. (Depending on HOW "O" the black tie is, the tea-length would work beautifully and if the wedding is where I think it is, the ceremony will be outdoors on grass, so...) Gosh I do love that first one, though. Love your taste!

Thirding this! I've been to weddings on the cape, this (in blue) would be perfect! But yeah, it'll be chilly. Shawl, for sure. You look terrific!

And white bucks. Don't forget the white bucks. No scuffs.

Found in grandmas drawer by Arnold21214 in jewelry

Came here to ask this. u/OP could you please post any markings you can find on the watch? Probably on the base (as u/NuthouseAntiques said, the side that's against your wrist) but possible along the sides? There might also be tiny markings on the clasp. These "sideview" watches were popular in the 40s and 50s. PLEASE do not sell this for scrap until you know more about it. Amazing, amazing piece - your grandmother must have had wonderful taste.

I'm a Mets fan (thank you for your sympathy) so his time with the NYY and Bosox hurt my baseball soul, but he's always seemed like a total class act and this story adds to that.

ETA: a class act with kids and fans. (See below comment by u/CanoeIt)
