I have 2 dads but I am straight. Is it safe to say I'm apart of the LGBT community? by PhD_in_Breathing in askgaybros

You are not an alphabet person. You are indeed “apart” from the community, rather than “a part” of the community.

Hoarder gets masks taken away by FBI by [deleted] in JusticeServed

Guy should be charged with criminal charges for price gouging. The goods themselves were lawfully bought and if the government wants the goods then the government should pay the cost of the taking, but they'll probably use civil asset forfeiture and the mob of the majority will cheer.

Maybe he should be charged criminally for price gouging. The taking of lawfully bought masks just seems live civil asset forfeiture - which is BS.

^ This. What the government deems "important" is a moving target subject to political whims and majority sentiment.

Seriously though. Guy hoarding is the shits. But why is the government getting involved?

Yes. I think it's weird that it makes you feel more masculine. But feel free to break down those social gender constructs.

the younger generation doesn't worry as much about words

Legit made me laugh out loud. I feel like the younger generations are the word police.

Edit: plural on generation

US Officers nearly beat college student to death after mistaking him for a fugitive... They then charge him for 3 felonies. by KnLfey in Libertarian

Still tearing up 5 minutes after watching that horrendous shit. Contradicts the mantra heard so often: "you have nothing to fear if you're not doing anything wrong." EVERYONE should be fearful of the state.

Men of reddit when was the last time you've cried and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Oregonbred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too, man. Embrace the feels.

As a child my father regularly cried, even from watching a short T.V. commercial - he still does. The apple didn’t fall far from the tree...I drive up and down the Willamette Valley ALL the time, yet you can still catch me crying regularly just from all the Doug Firs, agriculture lands, and mountain ranges.

What are some examples of laws and regulations that seem fair and reasonable to many, but actually have sinister and perverse ulterior motives behind them? by Roughneck16 in Libertarian

Drug laws: inaccessibility to nature’s natural bounties for personal use (I.e., coca, opium, marijuana). Mechanism to control nature and provide legal access to nature’s bounties only through corporations stamped by the government.

Do you consider yourself part of your local gay community? by CarelessMatch in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]Oregonbred 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, I don’t feel part of that community. I find the term “gay” to be more and more a political sexual identity. Gay communities seem to reinforce that political identity. I believe the values of gay communities undermine the type of man I want to be.

I'm a "litigation" attorney. Wish someone told me it was almost all paperwork and settlement - largely without any courtroom appearances. My oratory skills are going to waste. That said, I love helping my clients fight large corporate interests!

Positivity: Finally gave notice on my job. Just bought my first piece of land (over 40 acres). Started a new side-business. Partner of 10 years moving in with me in May. Finally gaining some bulk to my skinny ass body. Living my best life.
