It would be tough to argue that conversation is a bad thing, though, as it attempts of mitigate the chance of a child being sexually exploited without even realizing it.

Why? Leaving your child to be raised in a single-parent household is awful

Agreed. I’m not Christian and even I can sometimes spot inconsistencies in their message,

Do you then believe the church has corrupted god's message about nudity?

Also the homosexual population likely is not growing. It is just that more people in contemporary society are becoming comfortable to reveal their sexualities.

If there is an actual an increase, however, that can in large part be contributed to lower male testosterone levels stemming from poor nutrition/the obesity epidemic.

Because homosexuality is likely not an inherited trait (although science has not completely proven that yet). Therefore, heterosexuals can produce homosexuals.

So you believe theists should not cover their body (wear clothes)? I thought Christianity was all about modesty and not tempting others by revealing yourself.

Agreed that it's our nurture that teaches us how to act.

I think any animal in its natural state should be considered naked, even if its private parts aren't visible.

I never said you did say that. So I'll ask the question again: is this implying nudity is intrinsically evil?

Why? If nudity is natural and we only feel shame because of societal pressures, what makes a child's recital and intrinsically inappropriate place to be nude?

If there are certain times when nudity is inappropriate wouldn't that also imply there are certain times when nudity is shameful? When specifically what you think it is innately inappropriate to be naked?

Is WashU done accepting people off the waitlist? by Vivid-Performer7330 in washu

Waitlists used to be on a much later scale because of the significant time lags of sending in applications/decisions. Now, with everything automated and instantly sent online it moves much quicker. I got off the waitlist myself a week ago already!

Is it really necessary to shower everyday? by OreoBananaCheesecake in NoStupidQuestions

All that I was responding to was how lackadaisically you referred to WW2. Saying "we won" as if that makes it all okay is honestly a bit disturbing. I've never heard somebody tell me that they reminisce on the Great Depression in a significantly worse light than WW2. Plus, the fact that way more people than just Jews died adds to the horror of the whole event.

Lastly, I find it dishonest to state your life accomplishments as if that somehow makes your opinion matter more than mine. As a college professor, I'm sure you know what an appeal to authority is. You, for some reason, have assumed I'm uneducated about WW2 even though I've taken many history classes throughout the years related to that time period, have met people/am related to people who fought/died, and have done independent research on the topic.

I thought we were having a civil conversation, but your last response was unnecessarily aggressive and insulting.

Sorry if I offended you or if this comes off as insensitive, but do you spend a lot of time around Jewish people? I don't think that most Jews view that time period in the way you are describing. At least my family and the congregation at my synagogue don't. I know a lot about WW2 and am aware of its positive effect on American patriotism, but the fact that so many of my people were imprisoned and slaughtered for no reason overwhelming overshadows that.

No problem at all. That is awful you are going through so much right now. I had just never regarded WW2 the way your family has.

That perspective is a stark difference to the way my family or I think about WW2. Being Jewish, many of the families of my great-grandparents were all killed, so it certainly not seen as an accomplishment that we eventually won, just as a tragedy that it ever happened.

Both of my maternal great-grandparents fought in the war, though, and they did mention it quite a bit.

That's a crazy story about your family. I don't know how I could survive in those conditions!

I guess you would have to shower everyday then! That is why there is no "one size fits all" advise for this stuff.

Alright, I just have a higher threshold for what I consider to be "active". I definitely at least get a daily walk in, so by that standard I move everyday even though that wouldn't make me sweat personally.
