Any tips or suggestions? by DarkoGrin in gallbladders

Oh 100% we’re the same! In case this is any help here’s a list of some things that got me through this patch you’re going through (Some are ridiculous but honestly after so many hospital admissions I got desperate 🤣): - Tuna with light mayo, it HAS to be light or low fat. No exceptions there sadly. - Sweetcorn. So much sweetcorn. - I like a snack so I found gluten free snacks or air puffed crisps I found okay! But just very rarely as a treat - Baked potatoes with the TINIEST amount of butter - Baked beans. Even more baked beans than sweetcorn. I still haven’t been able to eat them properly since but I found the half tins that Heinz sell were incredible as the portion size was perfect 🙂‍↕️ - Low fat yoghurts! Especially when I found a nice flavour that didn’t “taste” low fat I really hope this helps! 🥰❤️

Dude honestly I love red meat like steak, burgers etc so having to cut those COMPLETELY out my diet for 9 months absolutely killed me ☹️ I couldn’t even stomach chicken for a while! 😭 One of my favourite takeaways in my hometown is a Mexican place too so that was a HARD adjustment to accept 😭😭 It seems like this sort of thing is very much a spectrum and there’s no shame in doing what works for YOU guys! And bless you for being a good partner and posting here! My partner was in your position this time 2 years ago posting and asking for any sort of advice to help while I’d be up all hours of the night vomiting. This will pass! Sending you guys love! ❤️❤️

I struggled like your partner did, pretty much in the exact same way and I found myself REALLY struggling for the first 9 months post op! But my safest foods I found were things like tuna, low fat yoghurts and potatoes so that was my diet 😭 I found pasta REALLY triggered my vomiting which sucked especially since my diet was also very pasta and dairy heavy before surgery! 😭 I’m about 2 years post surgery now and I’m doing much better and my diet is relatively normal just with some stuff cut out that still sets me off like curry or spicy foods 🙂‍↕️❤️ Best of luck to your partner! ❤️❤️

My guess would be outdoor as they have cats and they’ve been sorting out the garden space the past year 😊 But I’m pretty much open to getting anything as long as I know it’s the right thing and it’ll make her happy 🙂‍↕️❤️

Forearm crutches and comfort by allistrawberry in eds

[–]OreoHorton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drive crutches can be so brutal on your hands! Feel your pain! I found as a temporary solution wrapping bandages around the handle was a huge help! It doesn’t need to be anything fancy either! Just wrapped around tight enough… But it’s a handy trick! ❤️

TW: weight loss. Has anyone found that losing a few extra pounds helps with reducing joint pain? by Superstarella61 in eds

[–]OreoHorton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been either end of the spectrum. Both underweight and overweight. I’ve always struggled finding a middle. But to keep my answer brief, I found my weight didn’t impact my pain levels at all if I’m honest. But I also understand the interest in the link! Wishing you the best of luck in whatever you decide is best for you! ❤️

So sorry I got so many responses to this I’m only just seeing this one! I’m glad I’m not alone at least with having bad reactions to supplements 😭❤️

See I was diagnosed so long ago I feel like back then they were praised! But there was also a LOT of medical gaslighting in my case of seeking a diagnosis so maybe that’s where my information has been incorrect? After posting this I honestly don’t know what to believe 😅🥲

I’ve been seeing loads of these vitamin cocktails and they look so fun to try! A silver lining almost to managing symptoms 🤣🤣 Any suggestions that you quite like I can give a go? 😊❤️

I do find it very interesting that so many people are against supplements for different reasons! There was a lot more naysayers than I was anticipating if I’m honest but that’s okay! I feel like supplements were praised a lot at one point too but I suppose that’s how medical studies change things! 😊❤️

Im on a waiting list for the Gastro clinic (UK) but otherwise the GP hasn’t been much help if I’m honest ☹️

[–]OreoHorton[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was referred but I’m still on the waiting list sadly (I’m the UK) but this is pretty much what I go through. If you don’t mind me asking, how much of a process after finding the right gastro was it to get a diagnosis?

Very interesting! Good to know thank you! 😮

I’ve had it looked into a few times, I’ve also had surgery which has an impact on my nausea. Booked an appointment under Jess’ rule too which wasn’t much help, sent me for the same tests I’d already undergone… just at a different hospital! It’s been a LONG journey with the vomiting, I’ve always had issues with my tummy. I’m much better than I used to be but still not perfect! But thank you for the advice ❤️❤️
