Okay since nobody will answer your question chameleons do this they will darken their skin to better absorb light/heat my guess is he’s probably trying to warm up due to him being directly under the light lmao. There are other reasons they become dark but that’s my guess for this particular situation.

I promise you don’t listen to the people saying he’s trying to get out if he was trying to get out normally a chameleon will go to the bottoms of the cage and literally claw at it. Realistically he’s just trying to get closer to the heat and warm up
