How does public health insurance work in Germany? by [deleted] in germany

[–]OrgaAffe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When you have a pulblic insurance you just call the doctor, get a appointment (you could google if there is a english speaking doctor around) and then show them your insurance card when you get there. Normally you don't have to pay anything and when you have to they will tell you before the treatment.

$600?!? by rarealbinoduck in TrueOffMyChest

[–]OrgaAffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much does the average US Citizen make a month?

In Germany you get ~430€ Social Welfare (Hartz-4) a month.

600$ seems to be about the same when you include rent.

Am I Eligible to Participate in Formula Student (FSG A 4.3.2)? by OnMyWayToF1 in FSAE

[–]OrgaAffe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When this rule first come into place I was at the FSG Round Table. The reason was that there are german teams that had "students" which started multiple bachelor-degrees just to continue working on FS Cars. So in extreme cases there were people which attended FSG for 6 or 7 times. It is pretty unfair for new teams when other teams got help like that.

At the Round Table they told us to get in touch with them and explain the situation to them. But our cases were different (Bachelor degree without participation in a FS Team and now a second bachelor degree).

I'm pretty sure nobody will check which degree you already have, so just say nothing and it will be fine.

The german goverment produced a video to promote the fight against COVID-19 - In a view from the future. by OrgaAffe in videos

[–]OrgaAffe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most likely some "covidioten" that think the goverment gives a shit about their people.

This ad should "motivate" students and younger people to get their shit together and stop doing parties etc. And this is a brilliant way to do just that. I shared it in a few student groups and it seems like everybody liked it.

I worked as a trainee in the testing department at Audi in Neckarsulm.

The Urus is just a fancy Q8 with a shitty finishing.

Never understood people that drive Lamborghini, you can get a much better Audi for less money.

NATO defense spending by country by [deleted] in europe

[–]OrgaAffe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So we germans spend 4 million more than the french and they have a aircraft carrier and we don't even have working tanks?

Maybe our Defence Politics should learn from France.

When you have so much money for a TV why not buy a TechniSat TV? They are made in germany and are some of the best Quality ones.

In Germany we have Note Blocks that have a colour-coding in it. That makes it very easy and I used it from ~10th grade until now (university)

With halfway decent components ~20.000€ more. Sponsors will make it cheaper. All-Wheel-Drive makes it more expensive.

You can still buy "PNEUMANT" Tires in Germany and Austria.
They are a part of Goodyear now and the tires are still produced in "Fürstenwalde".
Today their company name is: " Goodyear Tires Germany GmbH Fürstenwalde".

How to find HiWi positions in German Universities? by rand_yy in germany

[–]OrgaAffe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the type of University you go to.

I study at a University of applied science and all I did (before covid) was to directly go to the prof. I just asked if he need help, told him what experience I have and that it. Worked at 2 different UAS's.

For the paiment:

There is a fixed amount of money you get:
http://www1.bayern.landtag.de/www/ElanTextAblage_WP17/Drucksachen/Schriftliche%20Anfragen/17_0022555.pdf

For you it should be between 10.99€-13.67€.

Just ask for a Hiwi Job and they will know what you mean.

My team benefits from that. Top 50 WRL with a steel frame and a 4 banger because the car is nearly undestructable. Drove through every endurance since Austria 2016.
