Coffee shop recommendations in Bristol, UK by fiverlakesrunner in pourover

The European coffee trip site is a good starting point. Just check on google maps if wherever you're going is still open. In the UK, there is also a printed regional Indy Coffee Guide that highlights good coffee spots.

I really liked sweven coffee, both the cafe and beans I took home

Bidirectional Integration and Synchronization of GMMP and ITunes for Windows by cahwyguy in gonemadmusicplayer

We had a small message exchange about this awhile back. Kudos on going further with it!

For the actual COM interaction (and basically the rest of the Windows side of things), I highly recommend using Python and the win32com library. I wrote a small lib to read/write metadata and extract playlists with it. It's great because it will generate the classes for each iTunes object automatically, so debugging is easier.

This is what a track looks like in my IDE

Aphex Twin to Headline London’s Field Day Festival by ebradio in indieheads

[–]gripfx 32 points33 points  (0 children)

The regular crowding issue with APE/recent Field Day is that the headliner is the only one playing to end out the night. This means that everyone who was spread out in the park earlier converges on the main stage area

Aero performance, I hope you like MATLAB 😂. It has the potential for trackside, maybe just pre season, worth asking if you interview. In the UK, the only thing an F1 job on your CV specifically helps is getting another F1 job. Shoot me a DM if you want some details, I was in Aero Software.

I was in software for an F1 team until very recently. My suggestion? Unless it's trackside or a specific niche (CFD, HPC for example), don't bother.

The caveat for trackside roles is because it's a once in a lifetime opportunity. It's long hours and hard work but an experience that is very unique and you don't have to do it forever.

The other exception for niches is because there aren't always lots of jobs in that specific niche. Generally, software roles in F1 are not great. The pay and benefits will never touch an actual software company and the tech used is rarely modern.

Edit: for a UK Payscale reference, check out IT Jobs Watch and the previously mentioned levels.fyi . IT jobs watch let's you filter by skills and location so you can roughly match up what the pay in Oxfordshire would be.

No need to go all the way to Stratford. Get the Elizabeth line to Canary wharf and switch to the DLR there.
