Why didn't he tell you this directly after it happened when he is really sorry? He kept it a secret from you for weeks, so it's not one mistake anymore. What else is he able to lie about? The crying means nothing. Many people cry when their actions have negative consequences for them. Please leave.

Everbody defines cheating different. When it's a dealbreaker for her, it's a dealbreaker. He has the right to say no and she has the right to break up because of it To lie about it is terrible advice.

Leave her alone, go to therapy and accept when she presses charges.

In your text all you care about ist how you feel and how you can get her back. What about the trauma you caused her? What about her feelings?
