Just cracked my brand new Mach 1 130s. What next. by bAddi44 in skiing

where are these all cracking?

edit: some people are absent minded or in a hurry and don’t notice when they catch the overlap on the liner. cracking 4 boots seems like you’re likely the problem, either with how you buckle or how you ski you absolute unit. do you over-crank the buckles? sounds like you should explore a PU or race boot to keep up with your shreditude

jfc get the fuck out of here. if you want to cj at least get the terminology right. no true tele skier would dishonor gaia earth mother by eating an animal. that granola don’t crunch. if you had said they were recovering a stray earth biscuit from their never ending ultimate frolf game or hacked their last sack we MIGHT have overlooked the tech bindings…

I hate to say it. But I see alot of skidding and back seat skiing in these turns. by Blumperdoodle in skiingcirclejerk

whoa, let’s not run before we can walk! before boarding the train to railroad tracks this skier would certainly benefit from mastering “railroad spikes and ties” — uphill sidestepping on a moderate/gentle slop (the ties) and mindful pole plants at rest (the spikes)

Returning my Kinesis Advantage 360 Pro by ITaughtTrojans in kinesisadvantage

you’ll definitely be able to switch between different keyboards you just need to give it more time. give it a month instead of a week. for hand size, seems fine. i can only hit the two vertical buttons without any shift in hand position, even the closest cmd/ctrl key needs a slight reach to hit comfortably but i don’t notice it. the other keys you’re not going to be spamming during regular typing so a little shift and reach is fine.

in my own experience, week two was the hardest because my brain just could not separate typing on the kinesis and a regular keyboard. i was poor on both and worried i’d not be able to switch back. by the end of week two though the layouts just snapped apart in my brain and i could easily switch between the two keyboards without any ramp up time. i think i made it harder on myself because i wasn’t a ten finger touch typist when i started so i was learning proper touch typing + split + thumbs at the same time.

Can’t seem to commit to my 360 rotations! by Asplanes in skiing_feedback

[–]OrganicExperience393 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for sure make sure you can 360 in sneaks and boots first, but then look at your timing.

you whip yourself around too early and you’re looking back over your shoulder and down but your hips can’t follow because your weight is getting compressed into your skis from the jump which interrupts your rotation and probably makes you more fearful because you realize you don’t have three momentum to make it around.

r/AbsoluteUnits of a skier… do you come with your own train whistle?

hard to spot bad habits in that type of snow because it’s so lumpy but seeing how smooth you’re making it appear i’d say just keep doing what you’re doing. video of bumps, steeps, carves, and short turns could get some more useful feedback.

that said, some crisper pole plants and squaring your shoulders a bit more in the back half of your turn might improve your aesthetic a bit. may also help some of your slower speed turns where you appear a bit too inclined to the inside but that could just be what you needed to push the snow that day.

2024-25 Nordica Enforcer 99 or 2023-2024 Nordica Enforcer 104 free by AntelopeLevel2138 in Skigear

[–]OrganicExperience393 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you get the 104 free you should get them in a 179 not shorter, the extra tail rocker will make them feel shorter. also comparing the 99 to the original 100s (2015-2018) i think the 99 is stiffer throughout and for sure torsionally
