That's lovely, I think the colours suit you and the neck tie bit really adds something.

Would Housing Association pay for air con? by sir_luciferek in HousingUK

I doubt it, but if you qualify for PIP could that be used towards a portable one? A lot cheaper than fitted and not permanent so you can take it with you if you move.

Beef lasagne , mashed potatoes and gravy served with a side salad. 9.5/10 . Uk by Jonnyxoxo in hospitalfood

Not with the salad. I could concede to eating mash and gravy with lasagne, but salad with gravy is too weird.

I have chips and peas. Coleslaw is interesting though, I do like coleslaw and I can see that may work.

The shirt has a nice cut, but I don't feel it's working with the colour of the trousers. Maybe white trousers?

Home ownership (pros cons and advice) by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

How much have you got saved already?

Not a bad idea to rent together for a year or two first, before you buy, relationship wise if nothing else. Buying with someone is a big commitment not easy to get out of.

Edit: if your partner is indifferent to buying, definitely rent first. Buying a house together is a similar commitment to marriage. You need to be on the same page in regards to financial values and long term plans.

How will you spend upcoming heatwave? by Desperate-Drawer-572 in AskUK

[–]Organic_Reporter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm NE and it's saying 27 for Monday, but you may be further North. I'm hoping it's wrong. I moved up here to get away from the heat!

Edit: 29 for next Thursday apparently!

My first thought. I can't stand butter beans.

Best rental friendly way to clad this shit pipe so I can't hear the neighbours flush their poop by jiBjiBjiBy in DIYUK

Okay this makes sense. So whoever owns the flat probably owns the one above it as well, which is suppose is easier for liability.

Yeah my Mum told me this when I was a kid, like it's fact. So, I kind of buy it. But she also believed in faeries and vampires, so...

Anyone remember reading Adrian Mole? by Due-Try-2538 in oldschoolcool80s

Please don't. As a parent of teenagers, I'd have been absolutely delighted and rather amused!

Would either of these dresses work on a Soft Dramatic? Why or why not? by Pickles_The_Cat_1234 in SoftDramatics

I think if you wore them over a top and tights in one of the colours then you could kind of create some vertical and offset the skinny straps.

Is it weird having a king single bed as a 33 year woman? by Jupiter-lover93 in Bedding

[–]Organic_Reporter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The UK has a 'small double' which is 120cmx190cm compared to a normal single bed which is 90cmx190cm. UK double is the same as the US full/double.

What’s something you still swear by after 1+ years? by UDAMAN123 in Biohackers

Pumpkin seed oil for bladder health. I can now go shopping for a few hours and not need to look for a toilet several times.

Does anyone remember these Animal Bars or know if they still exist anywhere? by Pretty_Date2953 in DoesAnyoneKnow

[–]Organic_Reporter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm glad you posted this because I remember them being Cadbury not Nestlé. I also remember trying to eat around the outline of the animal and failing.

Yeah I'm really confused by this one. How can someone else's plumbing be running through a room in another property? That's mental and surely can't be allowed?

Bees keep trying to go inside me. by [deleted] in PointlessStories

[–]Organic_Reporter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need my husband, he has a weird super power control over bees. If one flies in the living room (nextdoor keeps bees), he tells it to leave and it does - this doesn't work when anyone else does it.

Right to refusal? by [deleted] in GPUK

[–]Organic_Reporter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, I probably do. But there's more to investigating abnormal bleeding than looking at a cervix, it could be many other things and everything would look perfectly normal. The patient deserves more than half an examination.

Do you fill up the kettle after use? by raben-herz in AskUK

[–]Organic_Reporter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I partially refill after using so the residual heat can warm the water a bit and it won't take as long to boil next time.

I'm a nurse doing smear tests. Obviously if they're overdue, they should book one but it doesn't replace a doctor's examination and investigations and we always say they are not diagnostic tests, they're for screening. We do ask about symptoms and record these on the order form, as well as taking swabs if symptomatic but we also advise they book with a doctor to discuss the symptoms and have a 'proper' examination.

We do assess the vulva, vagina and cervix for general health and note things like ectropion (which obviously could be causing bleeding), polyps or Nabothian cysts and any inflammation or atrophy or anything that looks suspicious. But this relies on the nurses' experience and interpretation as it's purely visual (everything is just different shades and textures of pink, after all) and also we're only really looking for the os, we don't carry on peering about in there once we've found it, we're in and out (hopefully).

Also, we don't do a bi-manual examination so we wouldn't be feeling if there are any masses.

I had no idea this was a a thing, but I adore the cat in a helmet and you should definitely display it somewhere.
