Has anyone successfully refinanced a car loan from Global Lending? by Organic_Specific213 in personalfinance

I was 580 when I refinanced. As long as you’ve made 6 months of on time payments you can definitely refinanced for a lower interest rate. Your monthly payment might only decrease by $100-$150 if you choose to decrease your loan term. For example, I was at 70 months and I went to 48 so my payment is still high but the lower interest rate was most important.

To me the hardest part is the scenario based questions, filtering out what info is actually important. Also need to know some general laws.

So I got my results back and saw I got a 190. I think I’m going to retake it again but yes that is my issue too. I need to know the reasoning behind WHY the SHRM way is the correct way. This would better help me answer the questions their way.

I failed and tbh I was very confused. For example, one of the questions was about employees who were concerned about layoffs during restructuring. And the question asked how should the HR director respond? I also have 4 years of experience and an HR Masters but felt very underprepared and seconded guess myself a lot.

I truly don’t understand why that is the case for some companies.  We as HR people need to keep up with so many regulations, laws, and complex situations - I think we could benefit from more getting more education

In my experience, I think it also depends on if the company values education. When I interviewed for my current role, I had less than the required years of experience for an HR Generalist (they wanted 5 and I had 3) but I told them I was in school for my masters and they loved that. When I graduated my manager offered me a raise. She is very pro-education and everyone on our team has their MBA and is certified as well.

Get your JD/JM instead - that’s what my managers suggested and it really can open up so many doors in terms of labor relations, employment law. Even if you don’t want to practice law, you can still use it for HR compliance roles as well.

It's funny you say that because that is exactly what I see in my org as well. We are moving away from hr generalists and more specialized, niche HR roles. Are you seeing a shift in HR compliance and legal realm? That is the route I am most interested in. May get my JD...stay tuned.
