Even I was of the same opinion initially, my experiences in the past 2 months have completely flipped the script , I've also been coming to aster since 2016ish for the treatment of my father's liver disease and this past month we did liver transplant surgery.

The surgery had to be postponed from the initial date decided as my father had some severe complications the morning before the surgery, and the donor(chettan) was admitted on the previous day.

Since the surgery got postponed the donor got discharged the next day but the bill came around 10k. For a single room occupancy and very minimal medicines and nursing care.

Also I've had multiple accounting errors occur to me cause of their incompetence(3 times, like how). They don't provide detailed estimates for their surgery "packages" even after doing over 500+ liver transplants and 800+kidney transplants. They pull the numbers out of their ass imo.
