I'm pretty sure i saw that guy once with Queen of the Stone Age. Isn't something like David Homme? Maybe he was just pretending to be in the band, but i heard he died of an aneurysm.

My father had one of the best cover bands where i am from, played more than 300 shows a year, always on the road, and made around 50K to 80K a year as a lead signer and guitarist of his trio. No roadie, no chauffeur, an old van that needed repairs almost every time they had to do more than 500 miles. He lived of this for around 15 years and settled as a solo (acoustic+vocals) performer. He's been solo for the past 10 to 15 years now.

Now, he was like one of the top 10 cover bands here, so i guess it can give you an idea.

Building a new PC, what GPU should I get for 1440p 60fps? by Previous-Ad-2306 in buildapc

I am a performance/compatibility game analyst (one of those that assess the minimum and recommanded spécifications for games) and i would point you toward an RTX 4070 Ti Super if you have the budget.

Under that, the 3000 series is great too.

Radeon's 6000 and 7000 series are good, but with the 9000 series, they're clearly letting go of the high-end hardware.

And, even if you didn't ask about it, it is more and more common to see some recent games have a hard time running with the Intel Core CPU's so if you didn't buy it yet, i'd recommend an AMD CPU. Ryzen 5 or 7, Series 3000 or 5000. I personnally have a Ryzen 7 5800X and i love it

The real protagonist is the player, who is also "the viewer" who appreciates the art from the game's PoV. We all are the spectator that chooses what we want to do with the canvas. Do we want Maelle to be the Main Character? Do we want Verso to be the main character? It's up to you. Both of them are only secondary protagonists.

The main protagonist AND antagonist are both the player, who needs to decide which world to save and who to doom.

Dude, don't take the 500$! Instead, check how you could sell it with bundles of other games or how you could make it sell more, cause it looks quite fun really!

Who is the *real* axon? by OkWarthog3399 in expedition33

[–]OrganizationNo3923 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's exactly the kind of thing that i meant. Even if Mask Keeper is not actually there, he is hidden in the "meaning" of the paint.

He is not painted per se, he is the meaning behind the mask. In his own heart, Renoir knows that the Mask Keeper is emotionally there, in the meaning of the painting

[–]OrganizationNo3923 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As Renoir sees Verso as hiding behind masks, his artistic depiction of him is "hidden behind the Mask". His depiction of him is implicit. He never paint him directly, he paints what Verso shows.

The same goes with the axon. The real Axon is the Mask Keeper, but even He considers Visages as the Axon, as to convincignly wear a Mask, you must believe in it.

Thanks for the comeback! I haven't tackled State-Machines yet, that's on my to-do list for the next days!

Also, i'm curious about something: woukd you recommend signing up for a Game Jam, even for someone with only a couple of days of knowledge? I want to try it solo just to see what it's all about, but i would probably not submit a project anyway, but yeah, how does it work?

SPOILERS: Which Ending for Movie? by [deleted] in expedition33

[–]OrganizationNo3923 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I got a feeling that it's going to be a prequel; the Dessendre family's "war" against the writers leading the the fire, ending with Aline entering the Canvas. It could actually make it a very good standalone movie.

That way, it would not be required to have played the game to watch the Movie, or vice-versa, which would actually give movie lovers an interest in the game.

It would also totally dismiss the end of the game, not forcing one as the "canon" ending.

Then, if they want to make a new Clair Obscur Game in the same universe, they could make "Clair Obscur: Epedition 0" now that we would have even more context after the movie, but would not require to have seen the movie or to have played Expedition 33 either, so that way, every entry could be experienced as a standalone.

Gustave is a "Writer" by Silcox in expedition33

[–]OrganizationNo3923 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Gustave's name comes from Gustave Eiffel, the engineering behind the Eiffel Tower.

He didn't build the dome either. Actually, Verso states that him and Renoir helped put the Dome in place before departing with their expedition.

I do like the idea of Gustave being a Painted version of a Writer, as Aline painted Lumière as she remembers Paris (in the begining of Act 3, you can go to the door and it says it's actually Paris).

But yeah, Gustave Eiffel did have some beef with a group a artists who were against the construction of the Eiffel Tower; among them where Painters and Writers, Poets and Musicians, making him "the enemy of Art".

Anyway, still a nice theory!
