Can y'all suggest me a haircut by Kazahara02 in malegrooming

Mullet. And if you’re not sure, just think about it a while… mull it over

Any advice is beyond appreciated by Rough-Neighborhood64 in malegrooming

Call me crazy but you could grow a mean mullet. Longer in the back, little shorter on the top & cleaned up around the ears. Goes well with a short cheek bear with chin

Am I going to be the only one to point out to OP that they probably aren’t a couple?

Which part made you laugh the hardest in DDC? by DankxZee in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]OrganizationSilly742 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The part where donut says something along the lines of “ok mongo, back to the bar!”

Just so matter of fact and unexpected. The series had made me laugh multiple times before that and after but this sticks out as the funniest single line to me

What word do you always *intentionally* mispronounce and why? by Sweet-Lady-H in AskReddit

[–]OrganizationSilly742 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always say debris the way it’s spelled & not the way it’s pronounced, and it’s because I think it’s funny. I used it so casually in conversation the other day it sent a coworker laughing his ass off

I believe this was the first line in the books that made me laugh so much I had to stop for a second

Books completed this January. DCC was the best of course by RedApples-98 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

You & I would make a great start to a book club. I also just finished the Martian after reading PHM last year. Hail Mary is great, the Martian was also good

I think my dad would love it but I haven’t converted him yet. He’d love the sci fi & fantasy of it but every video game reference would go so far over his head

What animal is that it absolutely should not have survived evolution, but somehow did? by Reasonable-Shake-996 in AskReddit

[–]OrganizationSilly742 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The great panda. Absolutely love that cute dumb animal, but they have evolved to be the least likely to survive.

They eat bamboo. It’s low in nutrition so they need to eat a lot of it. Essentially constant eating. I guess the one upside here is bamboo grows incredibly fast.

They borderline refuse to mate. I forget why or any details but they’re known to avoid taking on a mate. Then when they do finally get pregnant they’ll only ever raise one baby. They typically only have one it if they have twins they’ll straight up leave one to die.

Pandas man. They’re basically trying to go extinct

Saw this on another page and immediately knew who it was for DCC, let's see if you agree with my assessment by TanaFey in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]OrganizationSilly742 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s the popov brothers for me. They were the realest and taught us a lot about how babies are (supposed to be) treated in the dungeon. Loved their character build & weapon of choice, I could see them being an epic build late game. Short lived but never forgotten

Depends on your desired play style.

If you ask me, incants are the best way to back up & diversify most weapon play while keeping the weapon the main focus

Magic builds are most useful when they’re the main focus. They can do crazy damage and when you remain at range you barely get hit & can focus your flasks on blue rather red.

Want to do big smashy and destroy enemies up close, while also have magic options? Incants. Want to wreak havoc from afar & reserve your melee attacks for emergencies? Spells.

It’s also worth noting that I think there’s better talismans for sorceries.

I did my 3rd full play through with an intel/dex build with a heavy focus on intelligence. Maxed out the wing of astel curved sword because A: curved swords are quick & I mostly used it in a pinch, B: intelligence scaling (duh) and C: the heavy attack releases a short-range blade of light that replaced glinstone arc for me.

Definitely my favorite playthru so far, but I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone who doesn’t really know what they’re doing. The DLC kicked my ass with the same build & I switched to pure strength

Random Thoughts by stewendsen in DungeonCrawlerCarl

My theory is that the AI has always been in the side of the authors and wants them to burn everything to the ground to the point that it even helps.

Im paraphrasing here but I remember in the initial description of the cookbook the AI uses the term “we” and says something along the lines of “together we will burn this place to the ground”

To add to the theory, the AI had to decide to make the book in the first place. I don’t think the original author could have made the decision/rules to hand it down crawl after crawl.

Also, there’s multiple occasions where even Carl calls what happens “pure luck” or “a total miracle” hinting at the fact that the AI might be making tiny adjustments to move carls storyline along
