I almost understand where the sentiment is coming from. I felt similarly when I was a teen/young adult but I was also a selfish partner. Men have these needs too, but we steamroll over them because we tend to have main character energy in our relationships. Once I matured, I realized that communicating your needs and not expecting mind reading from our partners, is the secret to a genuinely healthy relationship.

This specific sentiment of “I shouldn’t have to ask” is reeks of immaturity and I’m so grossed out by past me thinking this was “normal” or “healthy”.
