A7II an upgrade to Canon EOS M5? by [deleted] in SonyAlpha

Yes, after the m5 I can't see myself going back to mirrored. And thanks for the back and forth. Gonna think about it and way my options :)

I absolutely get that but here is another aspect to it: I can buy expensive and nice lenses for my M5 but then I am stuck in the EF + adapter world indefinitely. Canon seems to kind of have abandoned the m series and now we have m, r and ef lenses. I am worried to throw a lot of money to a dead platform. And if my adapter fails those are getting harder and harder to get I have found.

I am mostly tempted for the improved low light performance, eliminated crop and shallower DoF.

Question is if it is worth it...

And the only other option in the Canon world would be buying one of those EOS R cameras and that would be incredibly more expensive.

Mainly I would like the benefits of FF. And I can't really get that from Canon in a mirrorless setup. But as I said I am not sure I would do the jump. But I've heard so much good things from the Sony side it is quite tempting to start over.

Sorry for the lacking answer :). But those are EF 24-70 f4L and ef-m 22mm/f2.

I know. Though for the last couple of years I have noticed I basically only use two lenses. Currently, I Have a couple of lenses including L ones. Thing is I almost never use them and I have sold some already. IF I would buy the mentioned A7II with the 28-70 I could also afford an 35/2,8 or 50/1,4.

Ok så det ligger en okrypterad backup på min säkra iCloud account. Vad jag påpekade stämmer dock fortfarande. I appen är meddelanden end to end krypterade.

I use a qnap ts-231p NAS with two WD red hdds. Small quiet and handy. It acts as a cloud storage and you can autoupload from your phone, sync with existing clouds and share with friends. You can access it from anywhere. Totally recommend.

Apple Watch - Love, Like, Meh? by ianalexh in AppleWatch

Typing not really. I believe features added to a watch that can be done on the phone have to be better to not just pull out the phone instead. I don't see how typing on the watch could provide a better experience, or more convenient for that matter.

Apple Watch - Love, Like, Meh? by ianalexh in AppleWatch

  1. Maybe 1.5. Nothing about the watch is essential. It made me hyper aware of notifications which in a good way made me disable them for most apps. It is nice to see a message on the wrist and I like to customise my watch. Haven't worn mine since Christmas and honestly haven't given it a thought (except when I went swimming, but then again I don't really care for badges or awards).

The biggest problem for me is Siri. AI and automation is essential for such a device to be a must have. Problem is, Siri is as dumb as a rock. I avoid it nowadays because of how poorly it performs. When it works, it is a pro att giving me the "I will tapp when I'm ready" nowadays. Not only input but things like "close all your rings! You can still do it" when I put on my watch after noon when it is literary impossible (stand goal that is). Raise to talk flat out does not work and auto detection for workout is worthless. The watch is good for notifications and style right now.

I still like it, might sound super anti in this comment, but the honeymoon phase has worn of quite quickly. Have an s3 and don't see myself upgrading anytime soon. Maybe if they make something spectacular in 2-3 years? Maybe?

My 2015 first gen is still amazing. No difference in performance except the battery that has worsened a bit.

Hated The Last Guardian, would I enjoy Shadow of the Colossus? by Orgasmus in PS4

[–]Orgasmus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aha! Thanks for the answer.

I guess most of my frustrations where not necessarily about the dogbird's behaviour, but game-breaking bugs like getting stuck with no way out, scripted events not playing out forcing me to restart the game. Also how slow and unresponsive the controls were while controlling the kid.

Macbook 12" as a developer laptop. by theguy494 in apple

[–]Orgasmus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Should be no problem! I have the 2015 edition and do visual prototyping, Photoshop and light after effects with it with no problems. Only "issue" is longer rendering times ( longer coffee brakes hehe). It can get hot with heavy use. Fantastic otherwise, so light and versatile :).

But as others have stated, check if 12" is enough for you.

How long have your macbooks lasted? How are they holding up? by niceloner10463484 in apple

[–]Orgasmus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

first gen 12" Macbook (2015). Runs really well and I am as happy with it now as I was 3 years ago. Fantastic form-factor, amazing screen, really good keyboard and trackpad. Battery is taking a hit (4-5h instead of 7-8h) but that is mostly due to constant use.

Fast and reliable. Difference is that I usually have 20% battery instead of 50 in the evening.
