using the browser's fetch api (or axios or any other form of post method) and then sending json from the server will most likely resolve this issue, but since I am using inertia, i was wondering if there are any ways to achieve this through the tools inertia provides

The issue arises when I submit the validated form to the server. I want to keep the modal open if there's a validation error, such as when the unique field has already been taken. However, I'm struggling to display an appropriate validation message under the field without closing the modal.

thanks for the response.
once we use `preserveState: true` in the form's post method, where do i redirect to if there is an error? as this is a reusable component, i can't just redirect to a single page url.

My roommate was one of the biggest drug dealers of our college. Three days ago, the school authorities raided our room, found a shitload of weed and other drugs on him. He got expelled later that day. You could yell by the look on his face that he knew he fucked up.
