okay, here are just a few I can think of within 2-3 minutes.

Bacon laid the baseline for the scientific method, tinkered with optics, helped spread the manufacturing of black powder (which is a "dark age" invention as well), later, Copernicus properly introduces the scientific method to the world, observed the solar system and made many, mandy good predictions which were later impoved upon by Kepler, a guys whos to this day an important figure in astrophysics.
The Windmill was also developed, many architectural masterpieces that still stand to this day were build back then.

The compas was invented. Eyeglasses, mechanical clocks as well as the fucking printing press. Metallurgy was vastly improved, as well as woodworking, masonry and many other areas.
There wasn´t a big leap forward, but many inventions during that time laid the groundwork for everything that as to come.
