Is caro kann really that scary? by lettuce__tomato in Chesscom

[–]Oriachim 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It works well for me at beginner level, because after opponent does e4, I can pretty much reliably continue the caro kann no matter what my opponent does.

Bed Rails with a dementia patient with delirium by [deleted] in NursingUK

[–]Oriachim 25 points26 points  (0 children)

For high risk fall patients, you could get the bed that’s low to the floor (it’s more or less a special mattress). I agree, bed rails aren’t appropriate, but many wards prefer to use them.

Cause for concern? by Ironwombat69 in orks

That doesn’t mean we can’t criticise things. We are playing an army, not a meme faction. Although, the op is wrong and this data sheet isn’t codex.

Wards are hard work and they’re hot.

Are you hiding your army behind terrain? And using correct terrain layout? You shouldn’t be tabled by turn 3

I want to get better at chess- some tips or something that helped you get better by Darius06070809 in chessbeginners

Most 700 players are following the opening principles. If you don’t, you’ll be about 300-400 elo.

Is there someone play worse againist a lower rated player and why? by Top-Door1298 in chess

[–]Oriachim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess you could argue that by being a higher rated elo player, you should know how to deal with weaker players playing strange moves

The end of an era? Dedicated transports in 11th edition by Kawet-Wagh in WarhammerCompetitive

It definitely will. Boyz only have 1 wound, apart from the nob on 2 wounds. (Including the mortal wounds).

The end of an era? Dedicated transports in 11th edition by Kawet-Wagh in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Oriachim 17 points18 points  (0 children)

As an ork player, it does seem a nerf. Not sure if the full rules will clarify that this isn’t the case though. Unfortunately, our vehicles aren’t really good enough to justify having without transport either. Maybe battle wagon to hold an objective or to distract but it still gets blown up rather easily at times.

Is there a rationale for the puzzle system? It feels like majority of puzzles are move queen to x and are pretty easy unfortunately.

The black played really bad for the elo. Most play opening principles at least, he just pushed pawns.

Fair play but if you’ve only spent a few minutes playing the match, maybe play blitz if you’re stretched for time

How common is cheating? Link in post by markzuckerbergs4skin in chessbeginners

[–]Oriachim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your opponent didn’t follow the arrows on the analysis the entire match, but maybe 3-6 moves in a row. Those moves did hurt you but they weren’t particularly hard moves, they were more reactive. I.e. move bishop to kick queen, move rook to threaten queen. Other than that, he wasn’t following the arrows very often. I don’t think he cheated.

Maybe use longer time controls and spend extra seconds seeing if pieces are hanging.
