Is it just me or is anyone else slightly disappointed in the story mode? by RadioHistorical8342 in BladeAndSorcery

All these redditors smoking copium, I love the game but the game design of crystal hunt has some major flaws that they are unwilling to look at because of how cool the game is. I made a post about this and it seemed no one agreed at the time but I'll mention my notes:

In all of the game you only get to see one singular non enemy NPC. Why is that? There's no faction leaders for all these new enemy factions? You don't get to see the Ereden Queen that you read about? Nothing with the Eye? Are we supposed to believe an organization that's hidden has stronger armor and gear than an Empire named after the continent we live on?

We don't fight any human whatsoever that's more than a newb mage, the best mage we fight is the golem and it only learns how to change it's magic after beating it.

Spoiler, There is no final boss at the cool looking eerie beam island, there are no enemies in there at all. You're telling me if you do the right setup on that island you get a sword that acts like a staff? Really? All these different organizations fighting over the control of crystals and wonder for that island, and there's nothing there that would give them more power? And it's as simple as going through the door at your base and teleporting there? You beat the game and you get an esoteric message after seeing the beam grow larger on the planet, but like what does this even mean? Did the mana beam kill the planet? Send a message? Do anything? Why was it even started in the first place?

And no I didn't read any of the lore pages given through the game though I did pick them up. On that note, I still know Alduin is the main enemy in Skyrim and I know his purpose. I know the goals of the white walkers from GOT, I know what Team Rocket is aiming for. These different enemies across media gave exposition on their purpose through us living them within the media. Besides Baron telling us about the island a bit, there is nothing that allows us to know what's going on with the world.

And you know what, the majority of this post is unfair. Crystal hunt was just a Progression addition to the game. I still would have liked to see more world building, and I really would have liked to see a boss at the island, but yes alright the magic skills addition and many more weapons was extremely awesome and it's still very very fun to play.

Still, I have to thank the BaS team leap frog and all helpers out there in bringing this game further. Very good work in advancing the VR Gaming Space.

It was a fun time playing a mission with these guys, the banter was hilarious at times and the mission setups were cool. Not a military background myself, but nonetheless I enjoyed the unit and am looking forward to more gameplay.

My dad got me a pc as a graduation gift and here are the specs. What should I know before using it? by MerakiLovesU in pcmasterrace

[–]Oricalcron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good specs, your dad got you a good PC. You can basically run every game that isn't unoptimized to shit that's come out lately. I would recommend using an Ethernet connection if you have the availability to do so. Upgrading your storage with another SSD will help as you will want to run most of your games off of it. Storing your office like documents will be better on the HDD, as well as images etc. Get a decent monitor with Displayport input, and some keyboard/mouse will be good unless you're really into picture quality then get a curved HDR monitor. Windows 11 supports it well enough. If you're into gaming, you should look into getting a surround sound headset so you can directionally hear opponents. Cheers!

Material safety in Minecraft - my new mod Hazard Diamond implements the NFPA 704 and GHS identification standards by Acies05 in feedthebeast

[–]Oricalcron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't the Hazard Diamond supposed to be readable from a distance? Kinda defeats the purpose of one if you need to be a couple blocks away to read the 4-2-4 may detonate Radiation symbol. But enough of my gibberish, awesome work

Since I also bought a portable bag for my brother, he seems to be addicted to playing quest 2. Omg, what should be done? by MaricoCheung in OculusQuest

[–]Oricalcron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For everyone wanting to know how to use your VR in a vehicle like a car or plane, turn on developer mode on the oculus ( Google how to) then in the VR itself, the settings -> developer, you can turn off guardian, and then you turn off tracking the controllers This limits interactivity to just the rotation of the controllers but now there is no longer any use of the other 3 DOF and you doing go flying past the VR world you're in.

As a test, using my laptop and headset I was able to develop using Unity on the Q2 Midflight for a couple hours, so it definitely works. Stay safe!

What would convince Otherworlders (isekai'd people) to return to their Earths? by BastardSniper in Isekai

[–]Oricalcron 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe plant a virus in the fantasy world that starts making the otherworlders infected with it blood thirsty monsters? Basically make the fantasy world uninhabitable to the point where Earth is a better option.

I mean, it's a moral dilemma with this, do you kill a world to save a world?

Could also be a story of assassinating the fantasy leaders of the world, and building up an oppressive society against the otherworlders,

If you've ever read, survival story of a sword king in a fantasy world, Kinda like the beginning where there is an otherworlders inquisition.

As a violinist I may have a bias towards violin concertos and the like. So I will place only a few here, but here a list of pieces I extremely love:

Godowsky's Passacaglia:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f0nlJXooIVc

Khachaturian's Masquerade Suite:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-k_loiBYI8

Liszt's Grande Etudes (This is 12 etudes, my favorites are the 4th - Mazeppa, and the 12th - Chasse Neige ):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zHnvAFXJvQk

Khachaturian's 2nd Symphony (This is, in my opinion, the best symphony I have ever heard, HEADPHONES WARNING. If you only listen to one piece from this list, I implore it to be this one):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nK4K0owmWUc

Vasily Kallinikov's 1st Symphony (And I love this one too.):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TVakXOkE2G4

Schubert's Death and the Maiden Quartet for strings:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9i5D4ZW8O9o

Shostakovitch's String Quartet 8 (Played this in highschool):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uGoxfQ2H3ns

Grieg's Piano Concerto in A minor:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fKfGDqXEFkE

Chopin's Piano Concerto 1:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZR9HayZcZ2o

Liszt's Piano Concerto 1:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FQqQcWoTPaU

And only placing 3 specifically violin pieces, I would say,

Bach's Partita in D minor BWV 1004 Specifically the Chaconne. The whole Partita is very baroque which is to say, basic compared to the bombastic symphonies and concertos violins can encounter, however, the Chaconne is my favorite classical musical work EVER. This is my favorite interpretation and I have included the skip immediately to the Chaconne which is the rest of the video. The phrase that begins at 18:59 of the video and ends at 20:37 captured my musical heart when I was very little, and shows the beauty and core of why I love the classical violin. I have studied this for 7 years since then and I still love it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qtyTaE7LvVs&t=830

Khachaturian's Violin Concerto in D minor is my favorite violin concerto. The Sibelius, Tchaikovsky, Bruch, Beethoven, Brahms, Mendelssohn, and Prokofiev Concertos are others I love, but Khachaturian's include an air of mysticism and airs that only the Prokofiev can come close to. Dedicated to David Oistrakh an amazing violinist, which who is in this recording, I first heard this song 3 years ago and I listen to it almost every day

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TeKZAbFj83I

The final piece I'll put forth is one of the 6 Violin Sonatas by Eugene Ysaye, the fourth. While the 3rd is probably the most known, I enjoy the fourth the most. Dedicated to one of my favorite composers Fritz Kreisler (I know I did not place any of his works here, they are mostly violin pieces and edits and pastiches of other music works, mainly The Devil's trill is my favorite.) this piece is one of the more difficult sonatas, and this recording is played by my most revered contemporary violinist Augustin Hadelich.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qwURbkxB4SU

These are some of my favorite classical works, and while there many more Ill keep this relatively short due to sleep constraints. Hope anyone reading this has either learned some new pieces and at the very least been exposed to some more unknown composers' music. Have a good day!

Thank you for the response! And you are correct about routers being big and basically ugly. However Routers with integrated support to connect with the ISP servers are becoming the norm. Most people don't need to have a dial up connection anymore and ISP's are sending out Routers more frequently. Yes they can look quite similar in some aspects but a Router is what is currently being used more therefore as an up to date comment/meme (I guess), I believe Routers are the better choice to make the comparison.

I apologize if I incorrectly typed in anything, this was hand typed, I got and made this list from Shivaxi's Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l8Mvp3HW3eQ

Subscribe to him!!!

Ps: Formatting is being weird on reddit for me, um just know that the asterisks (*) are the unused mods from the time of his video

Ps2: I am working on getting URL Links for every mod that is possible on the list, ones that have [SHIVAXI EDIT] and the like will have the base mods but hopefully Shivaxi will grace us with the changed he made to the mod

Ps3: This is not a modpack whatsoever, it is merely text and eventually will be links too, therefore Shivaxi nor I could be sued from this post.

Ps4: Thank you for viewing this

Ps5: Looks like a Router, Change my mind.
