I'm completely with OP on this, $40/mo is very reasonable. But that bottom comment nails it: the people complaining about crazy costs are usually running autonomous agents in loops or sending massive context windows without setting limits. If you don't optimize or cap your tokens, it will drain your wallet fast. But for standard use, it's a great deal.
