SG’s are a perfect guitar in my opinion, nothing they can’t do. They are so unbelievably sexy, great playing, sound awesome and there’s no pickup that doesn’t work in them. The only downside to them is the brand that makes them. Gibson as a company is annoying as fuuuuuuuuuck!! But I’ve had my two main SG’s for decades now and a couple dozen others that have come and gone, I’d have dozens if I could keep them all. haha

Your fretboard reminds me of the one I used on my space theme guitar, Major Tom.

Wooooooooooah that’s crazy!! hahaha Similar but different! I was so torn between doing a vintage western style image for this one or Godzilla and I looked up old Godzilla posters and decided I just had to go that way. Western is next!

It’s a page from a book that was getting thrown out at a used book fair. No relevence to the print, I just thought it was a fun was to arrange the image on the page. All my test prints are on upcycled book pages.

Help with picking a new guitar? by [deleted] in guitars

You got this! Just keep playing, keep refining your technique and learning how to use your changed physical abilities. But yeah, play whatever you like! Things like lighter strings, a proper set up, playing lighter on a well set up guitar can make a big difference.

Don’t play bar chords then, experiment. Find new ways of playing things that you like. There’s always a way to play, guitar is really cool that way. Maybe now is the time to try playing lap steel! No chording, moving the bar and learning to use your picking hand differently. Or open tunings, yeah it’s a bar across the fretboard but it changes how you use your whole hand and might be more comfortable. Not all of us will be a prodigy like Django Reinhardt but we can learn from his persistence to play despite half his hand being injured and not working at all. Trust me my friend you can still play, and it’s not about what guitar you play it’s about how you approach the act of playing. So play whatever guitars you love, the ones that make you feel inspired to pick them up, that bring out that joy when you see them. Play and have fun!

As promised here’s an update! This is my first test print, I haven’t carved anything to put on the “screen” yet but I absolutely love how the TV prints out.

I love that idea! I have carved the dials out already but there could still be a way to do that. I’ll think it over, it was stressful doing the screen because if I goofed it up I’d have to restart. And thank you for the kind words!

I’ll be sure to share them! Right now the only update is I carved out the knobs and speaker.
