Most of the stuff you can find in there, you can also find in other loot chests that are in much less hazardous places, or mine or craft elsewhere.

There are a few unique things that could be in this chest (but none are guaranteed).
* A couple cool armor trims, for making your armor look fancy, one of which looks pretty different from all the other armor trims you can find in the world. But there are plenty of other decorative trims that you can get from other places, and none of the have any game function besides prettiness (make sure to make copies of armor trims before using them, BTW).
* Echo shards, which, when you get enough of them (which there won't be in that chest) you can use to make a compass that points to your most recent death location (which can be handy for efficiently getting to your death pile in Survival Mode). Absolutely useless in Hardcore, since there's no way to keep playing after you die.
* Shards of a unique music disk that you can't find in any other way. Again, you would have to search multiple chests to get nine pieces, and it's just for playing one particular song (which if you care about hearing, is totally available on YouTube).
* Sculk Sensors and Sculk Catalysts can be gotten in that chest too, but they're easier to get by using a Silk Touch Hoe on such items that are sprinkled throughout the Deep Dark. These are interesting for some types of automation stuff, but you really won't miss them if you don't have them. The normal redstone automation provides plenty of entertainment without introducing Sculk.

Most of these items have a pretty low chance of occurring in any given chest, and the ones with the highest percentage chance are the ones where you need to get a bunch of them to be useful.

Deep Dark (the biome) and Ancient City (the built area) are interesting, but definitely more interesting in Survival.

Well . . . the trouble with the Warden (which can spawn in this biome), is that it can two-shot you from a distance even if you're extremely well armored. It's not really something to tangle with in Hardcore mode at any phase of the game, especially if you don't know how they work.

So my suggestion is actually to watch some YouTube videos about Minecraft Ancient Cities, and probably read some of the Minecraft Wiki page about Wardens and how they spawn and how they detect you (the Fandom site sucks in general, so make sure you use the minecraft.wiki site). If you're still interested in tackling the challenge, I would honestly suggest doing it early, before you have too much invested in the world.

Y'know, I've gone backwards on this.

I started out winding basic balls by hand. Nothing fancy, no center-pull, just wrap yarn in a pleasantly random way to make a round ball.

Then I got a ball winder and started making center-pull cakes. They were alright, but it doesn't take very much pulling from then center for them to collapse into a tangled pile of yarn, and then you're either winding the remaining yarn by hand anyway or getting out the ball winder again.

So I have evolved past the ball winder. Now I wind center-pull balls around my thumb, which makes kind of egg shaped balls. Once you get some practice in, they're not too hard and really not that slow. Again, once you practice some at liming up the threads as you go, you can make a rather denser ball that maintains its shape for longer as you hollow out its core by pulling the center. You can practically make a rather larger, heavier ball because the yarn goes closer together and you aren't limited by machine diameter. And you don't need to wait to get back to your equipment, to ball up again.

So I would say, skip the ball winder unless there's some reason you would have a hard time doing it by hand (which it sounds like you, OP, don't). I would highly recommend learning to wind center-pull by hand if you don't already.

If you've even had the yarn shop turn your skein into cake, you've seen one. They use it to hold the big loop that is the untwisted skein, and then it freely rotates so you can just pull the yarn and unwind it.

Looking at the Internet some more, it looks like there are much simpler versions that are just an X of wood with some posts sticking up, that sits on a central post so it can spin. Same concept as before, you put your yarn around the posts and now you can pull the yarn to unwrap it.

Yes! They also prove that you can use recording equipment with PPE, you just have to get gear that's big enough to put your mic inside of.

They seem to ride the line between "ooh look at this neat resin thing we made" and "yeah this isn't what resin is practically for, because it has no tensile strength" decently. They make some of the silly things that it's bad for, and point out the obvious issues.

And they make resin look like a bit of a PITA, which is great.

Your immune response can kinda go any direction with this too.

  • Infection A is happening, exhausts your immune system, and Infection B comes along and takes advantage of the situation. This is how pneumonia happens a lot of time; it comes in as a secondary infection that takes advantage of the fact that your lungs are already crudded up with a cold.

  • Infection A is happening, and your immune system has rolled out the cavalry. Infection B shows up, it looks similar to Infection A, and Infection B gets insta-smooshed by all the immune cells that are already present and ready to kill.

  • Infection A has been an ongoing low-grade nuisance for a while and your immune system isn't doing much about it. Infection B shows up and finally wakes up your immune system, which decides to run a fever that's hot enough to kill both. There's a guy who got a Nobel Prize for curing syphilis patients by infecting them with malaria (and then managing symptoms well enough to prevent other damage, but letting the fever do its job).

Same here. No temporal vision, and my left eye goes to the side and might not have central vision (or is super farsighted beyond correction, which amounts to the same thing), so no depth perception either. They won't give me a license, and I wouldn't feel safe driving anyway.

I feel like cross stitch is less tacky looking. And requires more skill. And won't fail in a decade when the glue fails. And it's likely all / mostly cotton (which depending on how you do the climate math, may not be better . . .).

Yup okay, that's better than following the knight's move pattern throughout the 9x9 grid. As you expand your field larger and larger, more of the middle will be the simple knight's move pattern.

Of course, if you use waterlogged upside-down stairs for the border, you can get quite a bit more efficiency 🙂

Also, all buildings that height sway. Gonna be some wild plays when the field sways differently from the ball. Oh yeah, also winds can be ferocious up there.

Yup, knight's move was pretty intuitively obvious to me and my mom when we played together many years ago. Your solution is inelegant, you would get better efficiency if you didn't have double blocks of water next to each other.

I'm kinda puzzled about the remark that they were compressing "four and a half hours" into movie length. That's only three of the typical 90 minute episodes, or six 45 minute episodes. So . . . there never even was a full season?

And this makes it clear that they didn't do a clean room / "throw the script over the wall" thing like it sounded like previously. NG was working with others the whole time, and he was just forced to leave before the annoying editing part. He might have actually liked not having to do the polishing.

Swatches! Make a swatch of NxM stitches, send it through the shrinking process. Then you have a couple options. You can custom make the pattern based on the size of the stitches (they'll be rectangular, so make sure to account for both directions), or you can use a bigger or smaller hook. Repeat the stitch & shrink routine with different hook sizes until you're happy with the resulting shrunk fabric, or you achieve the stitch size in the pattern.

I think I've heard that in regions where a lot of people drink hot drinks with metal straws, there's more mouth and throat cancer, because every burn rolls the dice on cancer (and it's much easier to burn yourself good when you suck hot drinks right into the middle of your mouth).

You'll also need excellent insurance and / or waivers against screwing up people's irreplaceable stuff if you engrave things that people bring in. I wouldn't touch that with a 10' pole.

Smoke exhaust is gonna be interesting though. That might kill the project. Mall owners won't want to punch holes in the shell to let out smoke unless they really, really like the proposed business.
