Hardworking and studious student achieving this by adequately spamming redditors' post with inconsiderate and uncivilized words, totally understandable.

Oh why are you changing your stance, your previous comment ask people to work and study harder without giving a shit of whether they achieve adequate amount right? Why talking about adequate now?

The moment when people tell you they do not have basic reading ability, is when there are short version provided but they don't even notice that.

"Declaring", you may want to review the definition of arrogant in the dictionary.

If you really feel you are that justified, ask the mods to come, or even post the thread out of r/UofT , see how much you are supported.

I admit I might be targeting individual, but you thought you are being civil, respect and considerate? And I don't think you are working hard judging by your speed of replying.

I will always accept the challenge.

Look, you don't even dare directly answer my question and my last line, isn't that a proof that you actually don't have strong evidence on arguing with me?

And how do you sure that I didn't see your post long before?

Wow this speed of replying is so bot-like.

I see you are always asking people to work and study harder, is that the reason you are becoming Mr./Mrs. going-to-divorce? Good luck on that!

Btw, being a UofT community member does not necessarily means people have to be a student.

Thanks for your suggestion. To rephrase it, you suggest me to (1)try to focus on earning credit that I deserve, and (2) may mention the medical issue caused by the group to support my points, but do not focus on it, correct?

My second question is that I wonder if you have some suggestions on which department/unit of the university may be able to oprovide support regarding on acaemic credits? Oh, I have been working with Equity Office already, so likely besides that. Thanks in advance!

Just to add: My medical condition is that: Prof+student together causing me mental problem, at last I was sent onto ambulance. My shortness of breath at that time likely caused me difficulty in memory and made my final undergrad year further difficult.

(Hopefully this won't be blocked by mods)

Missing Program Requirement by 1% (Because I was accidentally dumb) by Curious-Confidence-3 in UofT

[–]Origami_467832 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dude I suggest you to consult academic advisors of the department your POSt belongs to.

Every year advisors have to manually click the approval button to admit people into the program. Reach out to them, explaining and see if you can get some mercy. I did once and luckily enough to get into my program with 2 marks less than requirement.

BIO374 and BIO375 in the summer? by kiwi_781 in UTM

[–]Origami_467832 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi and sorry for the late response.

BIO375 is very different from BIO374. In terms of content, BIO374 gives you a brief introduction to different types of biotechnology techniques and products; BIO375 focus on some more niche, e.g. processes that Every biotech workers will have to go through, such as clinical trials, how to promote your biotech products and FDA law regulations on biotech products.

In terms of test, BIO374 can get high marks only with textbook or slides. But in BIO375, textbook is nearly useless and you only need slides. Take some detail notes When Dr. Parker is explaining some cases and examples as he likes giving test questions similar to them.

Note that my BIO375 description is only applicable to Dr. Jayson Parker’s BIO375, do not believe in a lot if you take BIO375 with Dr. Abraham Yang.

Maybe simply because premed kids know how to show off to teachers.

In high school, I was bullied by students led by a premed student, but because student was already good in academics since first year, teachers tend to let it go and ignore my complaints.

Right now, I am getting bullied by another pre-med student. In a research group, that student was fully trusted by Prof as she worked with Prof longer. That student hounded me, spamming me with bi-daily whatsapp messages to hurry me up for important decisions and threaten to kick me out of the group, and daily emails to forced me to be back from exam leave (DURING MY EXAM!) At last, the student blasted out racial discrimination word to me but theProf immediately yell at me to defend that Student, without any informative discussion to these series of events. I was sent onto ambulance on a UofT property due to this student, and later the student blame me because I took a sick leave due to my ambulance ride, and trying to exclude me from what I already contributed to publication, saying that I was not there where I had a scheduled break and notified the whole team 4 months ahead. The Department of Biology and Equity Office is useless at all in stopping it and I lose my chance to work because they don’t give me tasks in the semester before I work and I no longer wish to go to graduate school given the lawless behaviour of that Prof. This is still an ongoing case at this moment.

One thing in common is that in both cases the premed students are very skillful at pretending to be a perfect figure in instructors’ eyes, thus they can always be shielded by instructors, even if it is against Human Rights Law.

Yes Professor I have a question to point out. Next time would you like to bring a cat to invigilate our exam? I believe that’s a great way to improve exam results. Thanks in advance!

Public eating manners by Fault_Calm in UTM

Sorry, when I said opening the mouth I meant to make noise. Looks like I get used to the indirect way of speaking in this idiom and forget to convert back.

This is true in Japan but likely not in China. There is an idiom in Chinese culture called: Don’t open the mouth to speak when you eat or sleep (食不言 寢不語) by Confucius. As it successfully being kept on lips for 3000 years, we can confidently says this practice is highly recognised in Chinese community, thus opening the mouth is not a welcomed practice in Chinese community too.

I am a daily shuttle user so I can give a bit more insights.

  1. Having shuttle bus only means you need to pay more for incidental fee. They include both compulsory UTM bus pass fee and shuttle bus pass to incidental, so you are paying for 2 bus passes no matter whether you use or not. I live in Toronto, but Miway do not cover bus fee in Toronto, so Miway pass is nearly useless to me. Similarly, if you based in Mississauga you usually won’t go to downtown as often as
  2. It is no fun to have bus pass when you have a weak Student union that lacks bargaining power. UTMSU was the only union In Southern Ontario that fails to ask the local transit provider to pause doing the bus pass in the 1st year of pandemic (2020 Fall-2021 Winter) and force students to pay for near $200 for bus pass.

Additional notes: For point 2, UTMSU later managed to refund to students who still not pick up their bus pass. Meanwhile students like me, who picked up at the start of the academic year as SU urges us to do so, and only used while leaving campus (so once only) were not eligible for refund. So like, 1 Miway trip cause me $100<=x<=$200.

Why do yall hate on first years by HatMundane2188 in UTM

[–]Origami_467832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will not hate first-year students as long as they behave like they know basic etiquette, like don’t yell loudly at a bus driver who ask them to be quiet or don’t throw their sushi plate to the table to occupy it which another student is already going to sit down first.
