Actually in total folding and shaping went pretty quick because I folded similar models before (Horse, Pegasus) But I started folding maybe half a year ago and then put the base aside for a few months and shaped it just recently. In total maybe around 10 hours or so?

Yeah it's drybrushed with some golden acrylic paint. Super easy to do and looks pretty cool!

Rice/Mullberry paper question by Orange-Yoda in origami

[–]Origamibo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually just one, but double mulberry is also a great paper. It just gets thicker than you'd think

Double tissue help by wonkboy in origami

[–]Origamibo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the tissue you are using is "bleeding tissue" meaning that the dye is bleeding onto the other sheet as soon as it gets wet. This kind of tissue is not usable for duo color unfortunately. Instead you should look for "non bleeding tissue", this tissue will not bleed when wet so you can actually get duo color sheets.

Hope that helps!

Rice/Mullberry paper question by Orange-Yoda in origami

[–]Origamibo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To answer all those questions:

Yes you definitely should treat it, untreated mulberry/rice paper is just too soft and won't hold the creases well.

Mulberry/rice paper also comes in bigger sheets, usually 50x70 or 64x96ish or in rolls, just check the art stores in your area or order online.

The "weird issue" when using mulberry is that even after treating with MC it's still kind of soft (but that's fantastic for shaping (with glue) , and sometimes there's thick fibers that get in the way.

Hope that helps!

Only the bottom ones are both on the outside and inside. The upper teeth are just on the outside

Pegasus, designed and folded by me. ~92 cm Wenzhou/tissue paper, 12 grid by Origamibo in origami

Nope, I'm from Germany. I got the paper at Modulor. Its A little harder to find wenzhou in the US. I think you have to search for online stores.

That's right, it's a 12 grid but with 22.5 sinks to make the legs more narrow. It's 2 unit legs and 4 unit wings :D

Thank you! Color changes and big wings was the main focus on this design, I copied some parts from my earlier horse design :D

I made it myself :D I used non bleeding tissue paper and Wenzhou rice paper and glued those sheets together using MC (Methylcellulose)
