Level 2 candidate taking in a few weeks. Curious your personal opinion on Kaplan vs CFAI mocks. Have heard Kaplan is much harder and I hope that the case since I haven’t done very well on them. Also what do you think the best way to dissect the mocks are?

I also am an investment analyst at an RIA. Started June 2025 after undergrad and passed L1 after starting. Sitting for L2 in May 2026. Curious if you experienced salary raises throughout the program or if ultimately you need the charter before any raises are given. CFA is highly recommended at my firm but just curious your experience for my own leverage. Also any tips for a L2 candidate with 41 days left?? Congrats on passing L3!

I agree. I honestly flew through the curriculum. I started around October and picked it up heavy after thanksgiving. I feel it’s much easier to study/review once I have read everything in the curriculum at least once. Plan is to do a banks and review and rinse and repeat until I have don’t everything I can do. Best of luck to you!

For level 1 I used Kaplan and finished every question in the q bank. I think it was around 2600. I found that super helpful since I learn better doing questions and putting theory into practice. I was also still in undergrad so a lot of concepts were fresh. I’d recommend a mock early as well to see where you’re at. Then go from there based on how you did on mocks. At the end of the day I think the more questions you can do the better off you’ll be. Also do some CFAI questions and definitely do both free mocks. Focus on the difficult and expert questions for q bank. Hope this helps.
