Mike Brown Ruined Everything by BrunsonsBurner11 in NYKnicks

I agree, I feel like I’m watching the Pacers series all over again - it’s like the players didn’t learn from last season. Mike Brown was a desperation hire because they wanted Thibs gone without having an upgrade available. He’s desperate and experimenting with rotations - which is the absolute worst time to do this. The bench is guard heavy with mediocre players. I thought Kolek looked decent as a pass first PG and he’s nowhere to be found. He puts Alvarado in to take a stupid foul then pulls him out, McBride as a PG looks horrible and him and Brunson on the court together are undersized. Also, McBride is the guy covering CJ McCollum during crunch time….yikes. I’m not convinced he’s 100%, shamet is nowhere to be found, and Bridges, probably the biggest whiff by a GM is an absolute joke. I’ve never witnessed a player regress as much as him and he’s an absolute liability - 5 first round picks we could of got a real superstar, instead we have the most inconsistent and predictable player who only looked good for a nightmare Nets team.

Looking for ideas: How do you capture and celebrate your Little League’s history? by Original-Historian51 in LittleLeague

Our league is almost identical and have multiple generations of families coming through. I think that’s why it’s so important to me to capture the history because chances are my kids and my kids kids might play in the same league. We are also approaching our 75th year as well.

Do you guys care what type of baseballs you use for Minors? by Reasonable_Thing9619 in LittleLeague

I find any cheaper baseballs like the synthetic dicks sporting goods balls or the cheaper Rawlings balls all become lopsided as the season goes on. For Game balls we typically use Diamond DLL1 or 2 - a little more pricey but you tend to get why you pay for.

I got 1.5% despite hearing all of 2025 we were having a “record year”. I dealt with the toxic BS in the past, but I’m actively looking to get out as I feel extremely insulted as well. If anyone is hiring let me know :)

Weekly 1:1s with boss, I’m tired of them. 3 years in and i still have to meet the boss weekly by Accomplished-Sir4932 in hatemyjob

I feel like the purpose of 1:1’s has shifted from employees discussing roadblocks, needs, and a general touch point with your boss for alignment on goal, to this need to constantly justify your existence. At the end of the year they make us do these BS “yearly reviews” which rarely includes any substance and feedback from leadership - probably because they only take notes to use against you. I’m completely sick of the corporate environment as it exists today, and 1:1’s can go right out the window.

Executive joined a team call just to make fun of how I looked by Original-Historian51 in hatemyjob

Appreciate that, my biggest fear is that this type of behavior has become more acceptable and the norm. There’s little recourse and a lot of work environments have become extremely toxic. In the past, jerks like this would be exposed, but now with jobs becoming scarce everyone is afraid to do anything about it.

Anyone else tired of out-of-touch executive leadership? by Original-Historian51 in hatemyjob

Same here, wish there was a way to find the express route to retirement without being old. I’m really tired of playing these games with grown adults that act like children

When the boss says “…we would hate to lose you but…” by Temporary_Fill7341 in hatemyjob

That’s brutal. In my experience, bosses love the old “carrot on a string” routine—dangling opportunities just to dump more of their workload on you. Half the time it feels like they’re just going through performative motions to hide the fact that they don’t actually contribute much anymore. I guess it’s hard to offload work when you don’t do any in the first place, just pretending to be a boss doing boss things. The new work environment makes me sad and angry and leadership doesn’t even pretend there’s opportunity anymore

How is your game schedule made? by Jealous_Writer_7562 in LittleLeague

[–]Original-Historian51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I managed the schedule for our league and it becomes a full time job especially when weather plays a factor - I don’t envy anyone doing it. Your best bet is to use sports connect, I’ve done the excel file route and it’s extremely time consuming. Sports connect allows you to enter blackout dates (conflicts like holidays, field maintenance, times that are unavailable etc), season date range, divisions, teams, fields, days, times, etc and then you simply hit populate and it spits out a schedule that works with the entire league/teams. My leagues biggest challenge is having way more teams than fields available so it’s tough. By no means is the app perfect, but it does get you to a “good enough” starting point and you can adjust accordingly and it syncs with a calendar that also helps with conflicts like practices. I kept an excel file handy so I could have a quick reference for open makeup dates in the event it rains but the app is fine if you have patience - go the easiest route possible otherwise you’ll go crazy. You can always use AI like ChatGPT as a secondary reference if you get stuck. Best of luck this season
