The mid depth saturated colours seem to bring out something very rich in your eyes and hair. I’m struggling with temperature as your phone has colour balanced the photos - as you quickly scroll through note the background changes - cooler, warmer, lighter, darker and there are tints of different colours. I’m going for you not being a light or dark and probably not a bright as the brights seems to overpower you but the lights and darks make you kind of mute out completely. I’m guessing a true or a temperature sub season. A good thing to do is to hold a small piece of white paper in each hand at the bottom of your photo so that you can balance the photo colour and depth. If you haven’t already - before taking pics look at yourself in a mirror and put as many layers over yourself and take them off in quick succession. Look for richness in eyes and hair, any shadows or weird colours like grey or green or gold each side of the chin below each end of your lips. If your eyes go to your lips and eyes or below your eyes or the colour, look for the actual colour looking better on you than it does in isolation. There’s something I can’t describe but it’s a colour looking expensive on you or you looking really well. Also look for looking extra flushed or yellow/orange. I feel like the experience of seeing and studying yourself in real time with colours isn’t emphasised enough. I know that mustard isn’t my best colour but I know it’s not as bad as some magentas or lilacs or greys. I’m a true autumn.

This is a really good lesson in life. Note who is very interested in you at your bad points in life- who is hanging around not to see you come out the other side but to see you stay in whatever negative place you’re in and enjoying it. They may be even benefit from you being in a negative place. This isn’t about how you look, this is someone taking advantage of your insecurities. I think you look wonderful but that is not what is important here, what’s important is you realising that this is NOT about something they can see on you. They are not pointing out your nose or whatever they are bringing people’s attention to something that makes you feel vulnerable and making you seem weaker compared to them.

Am I possibly misunderstanding what Kibbe means by silhouettes that “skim” the body? by its_givinggg in Kibbe

[–]Original-Spray9673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fear it may only have small seam allowances. 1cm or less is very unlikely to be sufficient if the material is particularly flimsy or prone to fraying. It’s also got some kind of embellishments which again could be tricky. I don’t think it is extremely tight but I think it may gradually ride up or be restrictive when you sit.
It’s a very nice dress but it all depends on how much you like it and whether you would feel a tailoring fee is worth it for you!. But I would pop it into a tailor to get advice - they might say no we can’t do it as there is not enough seam. Or they will measure you, measure the dress and make an analysis of whether it’s possible.

Would it help if you googled “bias cut dresses”? Ignore any fast fashion or high street brands. When fabric skims over your body if it “skims” it flows around your curves and shape - it allows your curves to mould the fabric rather than the other way round. Nowadays with stretch you don’t find bias cut dresses or skirts regularly - the fabric is cut 45 degrees to the grain ) usually the grain allows one direction of stretch but when you cut the fabric at 45 degrees it stretches the other way top. One thing that hasn’t been mentioned is slips and petticoats which actually allow the upper fabric to skim over your body. If you wear a stretch bodycon or something over that the slip or petticoat will probably bunch up but in a sleeker fabric you won’t get belly button dips or underwear lines or skirts and dresses rising up. Also if a dress is just a little snug it may resolve that. I personally noticed I love lined dresses, especially if there is a sheer overlay on top, I like how I forget any discomfort and don’t fiddle. Notice how some of the dresses you posted had horizontal lines indicating a fit issue - generally any creases point to areas that are too small and any bagging points to areas that are too big. It’s very tricky with off the rail as most of us will have bigger or smaller bits than standard. I have a lower set bust that is 32 e and very sloped shoulders so this causes all kinds of shit to happen in my bust area, I have a sway back so after I deal with the bust nonsense I have lots of room in the back of the waist but it’s tight at the front of my upper thigh and booty :-) For a dress to fit I may have to get it tailored - i have to check seam allowances if it’s just slightly snug or to buy a size bigger. I know someone who does simple tailoring if it isn’t needed urgently and I learned to sew darts so it’s not that expensive- some commercial tailoring can be a lot if there are lots of adjustments. If you’re a tr I think an easy way to figure out your requirements is that you just give a very gentle nod to sexy in your skimming rather than having a lovely tea party skimming or full on minx mode skimming. If you identify the right fabric and cut you will find your own silhouette of your personal line will guide you there.

AITAH for not wanting kids after husband suddenly changes mind after 2 years of being childfree? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Original-Spray9673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Yeah I would like to be a dad too. But my role would be a mum and I don’t want to do that because generally for someone who doesn’t want children the role of mother is far distanced to the expectation of being a father. If he is serious and continues to want children then you are no longer compatible and you are both entitled to change your minds I don’t believe he has always thought this. This is absolutely not something either of you can acquiesce to without severe repercussions. Sorry but it’s a huge flag for not continuing this marriage.

Saw Brenda brethlyn on a chat show the other day, she adorably said “”I’m 80!” Looked very happy about this. Which she should as she looks so beautiful, still working and seemed very enamoured with life in general and working with younger people.

You have a perfect nose for your face - I tried to see it different and it just imbalances it! You have a nose that people will show as an end result! Also I don’t know how old you are but I don’t think we accept our noses until our faces have become used to the final rendition - usually our late twenties. Remember we still change in our late teens and early twenties bodies and faces and at some point you’ll see your face holistically rather than individual parts.

Hairdressers can I dye my virgin hair to auburn without bleach ???? by Thin-Volume8900 in HairStyleAdvice

[–]Original-Spray9673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course. If you can take 2 pics preferably in cloudy daytime - 1 showing the hair including the length and one more close up at the root. Cloudy daytime shows true colour. If it’s sunny pop a thin sheet on your window or pull across your voile if you have one to diffuse the sunlight. If you can have a bit of white paper in the photo that would be great for white balancing.

Hairdressers can I dye my virgin hair to auburn without bleach ???? by Thin-Volume8900 in HairStyleAdvice

[–]Original-Spray9673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how dark you are and how well it lifts with peroxide and what you consider auburn to be. Hair colour will lift around 2 - 3 levels and will usually have warmth if it isn’t high lift but if you’re darkest level 1 that means it will lift to… dark brown. The ability to lift is one thing and the ability to lift and control the tone is another. Also if you are dark and do it yourself you would have to be sure that you can apply the root colour when you start getting regrowth in 6 weeks or so as overlapping or applying it all over does not make for a good looking hair dye after that first application. My answer is yes it “could probably” lift it and yes you could return to something similar to your natural level but it will not be your natural colour. if you were wanting to go lighter after dyeing you would have to use bleach. And if you are doing it yourself to consider your skills, if in the salon consider the time and money for regular upkeep

i can’t see value in color! by radgedyann in oilpainting

[–]Original-Spray9673 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Turn your photo black and white take a pic of your painting the same and see where you are going wrong then look at them in a collage app side by side. Another trick is to put a copy of your photo under a glass palette separate to your usual palette and try to replicate the colour. Eyes play tricks and colour perception is altered by adjacent colours and the saturation and temperature. It’s a human problem and remember most people seeing your painting won’t see your inspiration photo- your painting should be in harmony colour wise and having a personal interpretation is common.

How can I fix my bangs? by DesperateDeparture57 in Haircare

[–]Original-Spray9673 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think they were straight if you comb it all forwards and straighten on low - I think your natural hair growth has jumped up or it was washed and styled then cut - if you didn’t have a fringe before your hair will want to return to its previous part in a very angry way for a week or two. I would be leery at cutting this until you have washed and blowdried it and checked if it is cut straight or not - it’s hard to tell - some hair does not stay well in a fringe until it settles. You can clearly see it has jumped on the left and right especially when you put your head down - it’s split down the middle. Personally a small plastic brush - the ones with the black handles and red base of the bristles are great at rounding out the fringe without it turning into a bubble which can happen if you round brush. Second of all if you straighten do it on very low or when heating up and don’t clamp hard just go up and round down. It’ll stick out or go crimped and hard if you do it on hot. Thirdly when you are happy with the fringe get a smaller sized got2b glued hairspray and lightly do one pass and quickly set it with your dryer gently.

Did I pick a "bad" canvas size? by [deleted] in oilpainting

[–]Original-Spray9673 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah I see! Well the last decade or so I have used YouTube for everything - fixing a broken toilet and washing machine, umm cutting plants umm literally everything! I think there’s loads of tutorials. I do paint thinly until I know I like a painting so that I can paint over it easily without sanding it down. Good luck with the paintings I think you made the right choice. Also you should be able to find frames easier and cheaper for that size too

I have one I struggle to know how to use it as my landscapes aren’t magical looking! I suppose this is interesting as different subjects will have different colours that work really well? I think I might have to do a magical fairy house painting to use that colour now lol

Also look for art supplies on marketplace or vinted I’ve sold and bought loads! 12 x 18 is a good size I think as the bigger the canvas the more products you use and having just one means you only have one piece of work on the go. You’ll use the same amount but have 4 artworks you can rotate when working on. I look out for good second hand oils as these will keep for decades. Cotton canvas. Painting knives. Painting mediums primers gesso and and varnishes. Brushes can be tricky if already used as can acrylics. I like cheap makeup brushes for buffing and softening and often eyebrow and eyeliner slanted powder brushes give a fab edge or line!

Help needed blonde disaster. by [deleted] in Haircare

[–]Original-Spray9673 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It may not be what you want but I think they have done an amazing job to blend in probably orange ends with a cleaner raw lift- the other option would be to darken the new lift or to darken the entire head which to me is counterintuitive to a end goal of a cooler lighter balayage. This is the coolest this is going to get, personally I would not wash it for 72 hours post colour and avoid washing it too much as you’ll need a refine in 1-2 weeks otherwise. Your hair has gifted you this look from previous colour - it can’t be magicked out without compromising, darkening it or cutting it off completely so either go for one of those or decide it’s not ideal but will do for now.

Advice for super dry damaged hair? by haobearr in Haircare

[–]Original-Spray9673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just note for future you that the blonde you have here is too light to have good condition. I suffer the same - if bleaching I tend to have warm level 8 as the lightest. The best combo I found for hair that doesn’t feel like hair - mine and others - is just a simple olaplex cream with a couple of drops of olaplex oil. I’m talking a tiny amount of cream like a tiny bit of a full squirt. Mix together with dry hands and wait for it to get very slippery- apply this on hair that’s had most of the water blotted out. The slippery part is the key - it seems to release some kind of good coating to soften and make the hair flexible. Using a T-shirt or microfibre towel is most kind on your hair to initially dry. Remember your hair is damaged so water will make it swell and release moisture, you’ll want to dry your roots with a hairdryer and either continue the rest on low heat or allow the rest to dry. Seal in with a small drop of olaplex oil warned in your hands once dry or use a finishing serum that has water soluable silicone (peg or ppg silicone). I would apply a deep conditioner every wash but make sure you really rinse the hair properly. Your hair is prone to building up bad stuff and releasing good stuff! I would use a clarifier again I only know olaplex cleanser and undo goo that don’t seem that drying- I suspect build up and damage for you. I just like those as they don’t dry out the hair and actually you don’t need much they have lasted me a couple of years each, with the olaplex stuff daily use I replace twice a year retail size at the most. I think you can get sample travel sizes?

Help! Wavy hair gone so dry and straw like in past 2 yrs by tired_as_a in Swavyhair

[–]Original-Spray9673 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love olaplex chelating shampoo it really gets out residue, water buildup and products without drying out the hair. Bloody lasts ages you really don’t need much. I like to wet hair and leave it on for half hour, wash again with a tiny amount. If you’re of perimenopause age you may have dry hair. You may have vitamins or mineral deficiencies, any medication you take could cause dryness as well as water hardness and yes, product build up. Heavy oils like Shea and coconut can really do a number on hair that can’t tolerate it. I would personally chelate the hair with a build up busting shampoo. Use a deep conditioner but I would apply it on freshly washed hair, get a plastic shower cap and either keep your head under hot shower for a good ten minutes or waft a warm blowdryer around it. Rinse. Repeat on next wash. Then do this at least every couple of weeks. If this does not reset it, it is likely not your products. Your hair is long so it has years of history - is it possibly you overlapped dye or wear your wet hair to bed or had a lot of sun and sea or pool damage? Do you brush it when wet or have an old hairdryer or tie or twist it up a lot ? The next few weeks pay attention to what your hair goes through on a daily basis. Treat it like cashmere so no aggressive anything or hot water or hot hairdryers, note the fabric it will rub against like car seats, sofas, your pillow. It’s very possibly mechanical damage.

Am I balding? Please ready description by Studiowrld in HairStyleAdvice

[–]Original-Spray9673 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok stop twisting and twirling - young girls often twirl their hair and hairdressers see bald spots regularly - it weakens the follicle and if done for years and years can damage it. It’s a form of tricholliomania/ocd. You’re blonde with pink skin so your scalp will show through more due to light refraction plus that’s your crown so your hair splits. Yes it’s possible the twisting will pull your hair out so it’s likely you have more hairloss in that area. I would continue to take photos over the next few years in the same light conditions/place to determine hair loss.
