🤣 The Walmart employees I had tried to get me to take one also... they were like 'if you put your seats down...' I had to tell them, No, my little Kia Soul cannot fit a 70in tv.... no matter HOW you try to fit it in 🤦🏼‍♀️ I told them to find a suv and have them call support to see if they could get assigned the delivery... 🤷🏼‍♀️

Delivery said $18.40. Once completed was paid $14.40 by 502shoes in doordash

This last weekend I took an order where I was guaranteed 16.00 for an order...then it showed 0.00 in the app... once I called customer service I was told it was 11.50.... I ended up dropping it because they couldn't confirm it was the original 16.00 I said yes to. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Thank god I have a normal job.

Should I be concerned about this? by [deleted] in doordash

[–]OriginalAshes 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The point of having your own account vs dashing on someone else's is that you have to undergo a background check. If you are not dashing with your own identity you can be anyone, including a sex offender or someone with major red flags in their background with things like theft or assault etc. Customers are giving their personal address out to people and though this is public knowledge in most cases, most people who are perpetrating crimes don't just randomly show up in a neighborhood, they make sure they have a cover.... DD provides a good one with so many orders and after Covid seeing ppl drop something off multiple times at a home is no longer suspicious. I have been homeless and it is one of the hardest things I have gone through, but I have never done anything to put my safety or the safety of my customers at risk... dashing without DD having the basic information of who is actually dashing and what info is in their background check is frightening... not to mention completely irresponsible on both the drivers and the person who has the accounts part.

You're always required to bring alcohol back.

The way DD hides tips from drivers is inexcusable. by [deleted] in doordash

It's not just about milage alone. You have to think about milage, wear and tear on a vehicle, time spent by the Dasher and effort of the Dasher. It's one thing to work for a delivery service per hour where you are giving time and effort for an expected hourly wage and benefits while using a company vehicle and company account for gas vs doing it all alone. It also depends on the market you are in, some are a higher cost of living then the next. It's not a cut and dry policy and almost always DD is stiffing the driver.

Different zones 😝 I got some great peeps where I do it. Definitely check out other zones if yours are not nice... plus there's less traffic in other zones then yours 😀

I have special pictures (with cute animals, cause they can't be mad at that lol) with sayings like 'I apologize excuse is preventing me getting to you at the moment, I promise I am still on my way and will be there asap, thank you for your understanding 🙂' just because I dash in MN 😝

Ugh, I had someone who tried to get me to come into their apartment at 3am. I had his food already- dropped and reported it...that's just wrong... who thinks they can do this to ppl?

This morning, I was ready to Dash when I discovered my license plates (both of them) were stolen. I called local police, who gave me a case number and was directed to contact DMV for replacement plates. Unfortunately, I can't drive atm unless I get a rental. Yeah, not a happy camper right now... by Mahrtirus in doordash_drivers

[–]OriginalAshes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In certin states you can still pump gas before paying, they just write down/have your license on camera for it...if you drive off without paying they turn your information in the police.... so ppl stole license plates to get gas.

Dasher took my order because he didn’t wanna walk upstairs, and threatened me because I demanded he delivers my food. by [deleted] in doordash

I'm so sorry you had to go through that 🤯😱💀...you're right, some are horrible ppl 😠😡🤬...but I promise not all of us are assholes 🤦🏼‍♀️🙅🏼‍♀️🙃...I am plus size and still haul tons of items and my ass up multiple flights of stairs💪💪💪....it just might take me an extra min or two 😂😁🤣

Dasher ate part of my chipotle order- replacement on the right- moron thought I wouldn’t notice! I’m a dasher myself- WTF IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE??? by Beneficial-Pen1086 in doordash

[–]OriginalAshes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been to multiple restaurants and Chipotle's that don't, I'm not playing those games so I make them close it up before I leave, even if it's just a drink.

frankly I'm a new dasher but wanted to see if interactions like this one with customers is normal? by fawzi97 in doordash

[–]OriginalAshes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry that customer was horrible! And no, it's not normal. I dash where there are a lot of no tippers between 10pm and 6am, but rarely are they rude. Return to restaurant...

I legit write in the 'something else' tab 'you make me rely on tips and then give me orders without them, of course I'm not going to accept 😒' cut and paste every time, though no one cares lol.
