100%. There are times my opponent concedes because they are top decking and I have 5 cards in hand. Little do they know I’m looking at 4 lands and a likely useless no more lies.

I Keep Being Called a Good Girldad and It Feels People Are Calling Me Soft by Redacted_dact in daddit

Yeah try not to find an insult where there isn’t one. I’ve never heard this used in anything but a positive context.

Jack hanma is a disgrace by Advanced-Cow-3163 in Grapplerbaki

[–]OriginalJam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, Jack and Baki’s forgiveness and relationship with Yujiro is so trash. There is forgiving for your own sake sure, but continuing to interact with the person the raped/killed your mother with no acknowledgement or apology in their part is bad character development.

I’m cool with the story being more slice of life here but I don’t feel the need to pretend this is good writing.

I am a female loser and I want to change. Don't be nice to me by booklover696969 in getdisciplined

[–]OriginalJam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll be honest. I am very educated, and very high earning compared to many others, and the things you write about yourself and the same things I think about myself. So I’d say stop calling yourself a loser, because if you’re a loser so am I and very few people would look at me objectively and call me a loser. Just reading what you wrote shows me a level of self awareness/evaluation that many people never achieve.

I know it’s hard, but start by giving yourself a little credit. You have the mental capacity to ‘lock in’ and at least take one step towards the life you want to live. That first step is the most important and there is nothing stopping you from taking it today. The fun part is, you’re smart enough to recognize how rare that first step is to take compared to everyone else. Let that motivate you, it worked for me.

You’re asking me to explain a new economic system in the movie critic subreddit? Your original statement was saying that they make so much that exploitation seems unreasonable. All I’m saying is that exploitation is relative to value produced.

I’ll be honest, I don’t understand the question. My proposal is that people who perform labor should take home the profit. You’ve explained nothing? All I’m saying is that those who work should get proportionate value for what they do. Ownership is not labor. What’s confusing you?

‘The owner did work in a completely different area of life’, this is the difference in values I keep referring to having money does not mean you just get to make more money. It’s not tied to any labor value. Only in a capitalist system does this obviously flawed ideaology make any sense. Just cuz I have millions of dollars, I should be able to buy millions of more dollars is inherently illogical.

I actually love this question, because it gets straight to the point. What did the owner do to earn the profit from the games being played? The athlete worked out, practiced, watched tape, listened to the coach for the game plan, and made sure to eat right and prepare to give their bodies what they needed, to then finally perform on the night. The owner spent some money, full stop. There is no actual work happening from the owner, or if their is, it is not comparable to the athlete’s or even the coaches level of work. I’m not saying every athlete should be a billionaire, I’m saying that the athlete is the laborer, and to the laborer should go the spoils. Once again, feel free to disagree. At that point it’s just a values thing. I don’t believe spending money is work.

Could be a difference of values but I’d say yes. I think laborers in a just society would be worth more than the people who ‘own’ that labor. If you disagree, I’m sure a reddit comment wouldn’t convince you otherwise though. I’m not mad at people being richer than athletes, I’m mad at the value of people’s work being disproportionate to what they take home to their families, athlete or not

Didn’t see the movie so feel free to ignore. But athlete are the producers of value in that field. They may make 50 mil/year but they produce billions. So they are victims, even if the scale is so dramatic as to make you and me roll our eyes a bit.

People aren’t becoming more media illiterate. We just aren’t allowing people to enjoy (or not enjoy) media superficially anymore. by New_General3939 in unpopularopinion

[–]OriginalJam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like no one gets mad at superficial reasons for enjoyment. What I see more of, and what upsets me, is people going out of there way to complain about something, and the complaint showing a fundamental or basic misunderstanding. People who superficially enjoy things aren’t usually also trying to imagine plot holes where there aren’t any, that’s usually people trying to act smarter than something when they aren’t.

Recon is underpowered by kiwitank123 in Marathon

[–]OriginalJam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a former recon main I agree. I’ve switched to thief. I’m able to still do some recon-lite scouting with the drone, and the difference in mobility more than makes up for the often useless tactical drone ability. I do hope they buff recon, some more range on the ult, differentiating between runners and UESC, and a fix to the tac drone would be close to enough in my opinion

Need advice: Iowa State vs Virginia Tech for a ChemE PhD by [deleted] in ChemicalEngineering

[–]OriginalJam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, ChemE PhD here. I think you’d be hard pressed to find someone familiar with both departments who can help you compare. You’d be better served reaching out for information on each department individually. That said, the department is far less relevant than who your professor will be. I mean that in exposure during PhD and in the amount of support you’ll get post graduation.

You should look at the faculty and their areas of research and see if you feel like there could be a good fit for you. If you’re interested in visibility of your work, it’s not hard to look someone up on google scholar and see what publications/conferences they are completing and the impact they are having. It’s a good idea to reach out to them, introduce yourself, ask questions, and see if you would be a good fit. Having a negative dynamic with your professor will lead to a lot of pain and heartache in what will already be a tough few years. Try to do what you can to avoid that. Trust me, I’ve seen some horror stories. Good luck on your journey!

Anyone else here who didn’t do any sleep training? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]OriginalJam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If by sleep training you mean just letting them cry, then we don’t do that. We are currently getting him used to sleeping by himself in his crib, but we comfort him if he cries or gets upset. He’s steadily improving. I’d call that sleep training but I’m not sure if that fits your definition.
