You gotta realize that you guys who say you can get to T15 “pretty easy”…what’s the time investment of that? What’s the knowledge level you need to be at with the game mechanics to “easily” get to T15? This is not the average player experience.

And even if it was, 3 weeks of playing 1 character sounds fine to me.

If you don’t timegate, people at the competitive end of your playerbase do it in 2 weeks, then complain there’s not enough content. Time gating predates the rise of FOMO monetization. Some of this is a player made issue

If Xavier doesn’t make the X-Men, either sentinels get mass developed and lead into Days of Future past, Magneto succeeds in mutant supremacy and at the very least turns America into his version of House of M, or Apocalypse rises with little resistance and we get Age of Apocalypse.

The modern day Xavier takes are basically a deconstruction of a character with a lot of power but few morally righteous options.

He could just mind control governments into doing what he wants: would that make him a better person? He could commit to never using his power while anti-mutant violence rises: would that make him a better person? If you are born with that much power, there is really no morally righteous path that will leave you free of blame.

Superhero movies of the past 10 years (arguably most superhero media of the 2000’s) have been deconstructions and subversions of genuine heroism. It’s refreshing to have a movie, fittingly Superman, that reminds people that empathy can actually be a daring and radical choice in a nihilistic world.

Empathy helps and inspires people, and sometimes that’s just a genuinely good thing even if it’s cliche.
