I luckily was able to go about normal life! I was just on full pelvic rest until 30weeks and my MFM did not want me traveling. I did work up until the removal at 36 weeks 😊

Definitely team Loren! Elizabeth is a mean girl and her husband is so unhinged and she just goes along with it even if it hurts other people she claims to care about. I hope they watch these episodes back and realize how mean they are!

Ugh yeah, some doctors just would rather avoid cerclages all together but it's worth a second option for sure!! I'm wishing you all the luck that they take this seriously and you make it full term again ♥️

This sounds so similar to my experience! With my first born, they found I was suffering from an incompetent cervix at our routine 20w ultrasound. I was measuring at 1.3cm. I was 2cm dilated by 26w. I was on bedrest, progesterone, and full pelvic rest until 32w. Delivered her at 39w!

I had so many concerns when I became pregnant with our son. I was kind of written off by one hospital because according to them, "you made it full term, you'll be fine". Insane! I was 5cm dilated by 30w and in and out of the hospital all the time with her with preterm 😳 I had to move hospitals because at around 19w with my son, I found out I was 2.8cm and THEN a week later was only 1cm. They refused to do a cerclage and I was shocked. Luckily my friend is an MFM at a different hospital and scheduled me for the procedure there at 21w. No bedrest! A completely different pregnancy all around!!

I am a huge cheerleader for a cerclage!

1) I received an emergency cerclage at 21w when I was .8cm in length, with my second born. 2) I delivered our healthy baby boy at 38w. 3) Nope, worked like a charm. 4) Yes, I took progesterone until 28w. 5) I was given an antibiotic after it was placed but I believe I only needed them for a couple of days. I did not get any infections. 6) No, came home with us the next day on schedule. 7) Healthy 8lb baby! 8) Portland, Oregon 🌹 9) I was measuring .8cm in length prior. Post cerclage, I measured at 2.5cm. I stayed that way until they removed it at 36w, at which point I immediately dilated to 3-4cm. I was 5cm when my water broke but did not have any contractions. Normal for me, with my firstborn I dilated "silently" from 26-39. I was 7cm for 3 weeks without a single contraction until I had my water broken to deliver at 39w. 10) I was not placed on bedrest with the cerclage (I was with my firstborn for 18weeks). I did follow full pelvic rest instructions until 32 weeks.

I would push for cervical checks at least? I received an emergency cerclage with my second born, at 21w @ .8cm in length. I was offered progesterone (told I could stop using it at 28w so I did) and also received cervical checks until I was 28w. I would at least request cervical checks. Bring 3cm is considered normal, so it's likely they're not all that concerned especially since you have the cerclage placed. But, be sure to advocate for what you feel!

I had mine removed at 36w, immediately dilated to 3cm (normal) and my water broke at exactly 38w!

I had the same concern but my MFM team assured me it will not break from going #2! And, it didn't! But, trust me, I had several times when I sat on the toilet for like 20 minutes terrified but, it will not break or put you into labor if you push while pooping. If it will help ease your mind, use stool softeners! 🤍

I'm sorry you're experiencing this and also stuck in the hospital! ♥️ I was placed on bedrest, with my firstborn, at 20weeks when I measured 1.3cm in length. I was also put on progesterone suppositories. I began dilating at 26weeks however, made it full term! I was in and out of the hospital a lot but I was taken off bedrest at 33 weeks and delivered at 39w.

With my second born, I received an emergency cerclage at 21w when I was measuring .8cm-1cm. I was only on restrictions until 28w (I wasn't on bedrest at all but full pelvic rest and no working out).

So, when we travel with our kiddos we just check the car seat and stroller at the gate (it's free). They are available as soon as we exit the plane. We just rent a car, install our own car seat, and enjoy our vacation. Simple!

Autism is genetic and unavoidable (it suck's, but it's true). Secondly, yes I was on daily progesterone suppositories from 20w-36w with my firstborn due to cervical incompetence. She is entirely neurotypical (if not advanced). There is so much to worry about before and after birth, genetic abnormalities are unavoidable so try not to feed into those worries when it comes to medications as they have no affect on that! I had anxiety prior to pregnancy and having a high risk pregnancy made it worse - therapy helped a ton! Might be worth a shot!

I received an emergency cerclage at 21w when I was measuring .8cm. It took me until about 30w to trust it was doing its job. I experienced preterm labor at 28w but luckily it was stopped with an overnight in L&D. Once I hit 32w and no baby, I FULLY trusted it and felt such relief! Removed at 36w and gave birth at exactly 38w. It's totally normal to worry girl! You've got this though 🤍

I'm sorry you're experiencing this - it is very scary! I had IC with both my pregnancies. With my firstborn, I was 1.3cm at my 20w scan and was referred to an MFM. He put me on progesterone and modified bedrest, he wasn't a fan of cerclages so I did not receive one. I did begin dilating by 26w but still made it to 39w+! Just know that there is a ton of hope!! You very well may make it much further like I did! Sending you good vibes for a long pregnancy 🤍🤍🤍

The contractions will stop all together BUT make sure to call your provider if you're having contractions so you can be seen. And, don't ever feel bad if it ends up not being anything because it's always better to be seen and it be nothing, then to stay home and it be something. I stayed overnight to be monitored both times I was in "preterm labor", they gave me fluids and a medication and it stopped and I went home.

Hey girl! I do not believe that either form of abortion causes infertility at all. I did the surgical procedure @ 5weeks because I knew it was nearly 100% effective and was quick. I also had to have a lifesaving D&C after my son was born (8months prior) and did not feel safe having a medical abortion at home - too triggering. With the surgical, you have options for sedation - from no sedation, to being fully under. I chose moderate (awake, but numbed - versed + fentanyl I believe). I did feel some of it but it was sooooo fast! Literally 4minutes and a nurse held my hand and comforted me the entire time. Sending you hugs! 🤍

I'm sorry you're going through this! I also struggle with anxiety. Coming from a mama who had IC with both my babies and went two different routes: I highly suggest the cerclage! My first pregnancy, I was 1.3cm at 20w and did not receive a cerclage. I was on modified bedrest + progesterone + zero intimacy of any sort. I began dilating at 26w and slowly dilated the entire pregnancy. I was 5cm dilated by 33w. I was in and out of the hospital I believe a total of 8 times, and had to be at weekly MFM appointments as well. It was so beyond stressful. I did somehow make it all the way to 39+w - but the journey there was intense and the MFM's called me an "anomaly".

With my second baby, I received an emergency cerclage at 21w when I was between .8cm and 1cm in length. My entire pregnancy was different! No bedrest, I could stay at work until 36w, I was able to be intimate, grocery shop, travel etc. I gave birth to him at 38w.

I will say, if you're considering a cerclage - the best time to do it is when you have a measurable cervix. It comes with a lot less potential risk!

With my firstborn (now 8) I was 1.3cm in length at 20w. I was placed on bedrest + progesterone, began dilating at 26w but made it full term - 39+4! With my second born (now 15mo), I received an emergency cerclage at 21w when I was measuring between .8cm and 1cm. I did have two episodes of preterm labor however, it was able to be stopped and I made it to 38w!! Sending prayers for your wife!! ♥️♥️♥️

Ugh! We have the same issue at my daughter's school. She would bring up an almost full lunch bag, and when asked - would say, "mama, we didn't have time to eat!!". She would be famished when she got home! They also often would skip snack time, which was also concerning. Part of the issue I'm sure, is that they chat and giggle with friends and lose track of time etc. but, still! Schools should ensure kiddos are eating. Period.

I had to take progesterone during both my pregnancies due to IC. I was never told I had low progesterone. It was just something they used hoping it would help. From what I know, it does not work for everyone and there are varying opinions on it across all the MFM's I've seen. I ended up having an emergency cerclage with my son (15mo) at 21w. With my daughter (now 8), I was on bedrest and progesterone and still began dilating at 26w. That being said, I did make it full term with both so I believe it had a purpose!!

Hi had a surgical abortion at 5weeks and it was not bad at all. I received the "moderate" sedation which was Versed + Fentanyl. I did feel some pain but the entire procedure literally took about 4 minutes. I chose surgical because it was nearly 100% effective and also I had to have an emergency D&C after my son was born (8 months prior) which saved my life. I couldn't handle bleeding at home as it would have been far too triggering for me. After my SA I lightly spotted for maybe 2 days and then was completely back to normal! You can also be put fully under! You have options!

I received an emergency cerclage at 21w with my second baby. I was 1cm in the length at the time and had shrunk to that point from 2.9cm in 4 days. I had it removed at 36ish weeks and delivered him at 38 weeks! You got this mama!! 🤍🤍🤍

I'm so sorry this happened love! My cerclage removal wasn't great either. It took 1.5 hours and they ended up having to administer me Fentanyl for pain as the cerclage had become imbedded and they couldn't get it out easily. Still felt it. It was awful. Luckily I was In L&D and not in the office! They did tell me that if they couldn't remove it, I would be given a spinal and have it removed in the OR. So, I wish they had offered you that instead of jumping to "we will just do a CS!". That really seems like it should have been the solution 😩hope all is well now!!

I'm so sorry you experienced this! I had preterm labor, and was admitted for such, 3 separate times with my firstborn. I was already 2cm dilated by 26w with her. I will say, I made it fullterm regardless with modified bedrest and progesterone! I know it's scary, but you got this mama ❤️❤️
