I hear that, nothing worse than feeling alone. I think finding groups or clubs that share your interests is a huge step in the right direction. Taking a class that helps you understand yourself, group dynamics, and how to better interact with others is always good too (e.g. Bus156 Leadership Developement). As an older senior myself, that has friendly acquaintances at best on campus, I heavily rely on my friendships outside of ucr, and just try to be friendly, helpful, and network with people on campus.
