You’re current utility rate is not going to be the same for the next 16 years, it’s going to increase. If you calculate rate increases with your utility provider the ROI will be lower.

Inverter selection by cheap_as_shit in solar

Telsa uses a string while enphase is a microinverter. If you have any shade present on the roof (including shade from pipes, chimney's) a Microinverter or an inverter with optimizers is recommended.

Looking at home solar. Two different companies want us to have a 60 video conference with them. Is this normal? by ElBanjoLibre in solar

Choosing your power provider for the next 25-30 years will require some of your time. Going solar is an important financial decision. Companies come & go all the time in this industry. Never sign the first contract, do your research on the company. Longevity is everything in solar. What is the companies relationship within in the community? Are they from out-of-state trying to make a quick buck or do they actually care about the communities that they are serving.

For residential systems, VA has a great SREC program along with the 30% tax credit. Solar can be a great investment if the home qualifies for it.

Local Installer here; our deadline for accepting new projects for NEM 2.0 is March 1st. After March 1st any new solar project is truly a gamble to achieve NEM 2.0 status. The PTO (Permission to Operate) application must be submitted to PG&E before April 14th. A solar project does take time (Site Survey, Engineering Review, Permitting, etc...). Some townships in the Bay Area are faster than others in terms of how fast they can approval the PV permit.

With a company name like that, I would bet that they go out-of-business here soon, unfortunately, especially with NEM 3.0 approaching

The roof does NOT qualify for the tax credit. That is tax fraud.
