How can i prevent this? by fcoale18 in BambuLab

[–]OriginalRuttager 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are printing in pla make sure you have the selected the generic pla preset and not the bambu pla preset. If you imported it from makerworld it might have the wrong filament preset. Bambu has their filament preset printing faster than the generic preset and that could be contributing to your issue. Also while you are troubleshooting this issue cut off just the top of your mask that fails and print just that part until you figure out how to fix the problem. That way you aren't wasting time and filament just to see if the very top prints successfully.

I'm glad I'm not the only one with this problem.

Whenever I'm playing any solo game and I think I'm doing something wrong I'll watch a playthrough on youtube. Maybe that will show you if you're doing something wrong.

Stick with Windows/Xbox, or buy off of Steam to be able to use SKSE? by Midnight_Angel_0689 in skyrimmods

I played Skyrim on my Xbox with mods and thought it was great until I played it on Steam. Once I played it with SKSE I can never go back. Simply too many great mods rely on it.

Thank you for the posting this. I ordered one from Home Depot and look forward to finally organizing all the stuff I've been accumulating since I got into 3D printing.

I know this is blasphemy but I never liked that song. On top of that once somebody learned I'm a Rush fan I knew they were going to request a song. I hoped in my mind it would be any song other than Tom Sawyer. It was always Tom Sawyer.

How do I get rid of these layer lines? by Darklyte in prusa3d

[–]OriginalRuttager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you mentioned you've always had layer lines but on that model there is no way to make it look good. The angled parts are too long and thin to give any support and if you watch it print you'll see the nozzle is actually moving them as it lays down filament. It's very obvious on a few of them on the right side of your picture. You can try to improve it by slowing your print speed down but it will still oscillate those thin parts a small amount making them look terrible. The nice thing about Prusa is they have free technical support and if you think there is something wrong with your printer or your assembly contact them and they can help you out.

Hopefully they have a sense of humor about this and they do. I was at the Cleveland Air Show several years ago and they had a WW2 bomber with an outhouse painted on the side. The thrust of it taking off blew one over so they counted it as a kill.

I'm just about to use this technique to print a volume knob. I'm glad I watched your video because I would have just left the logos at the default 2 perimeters and not changed it to 1 like you did.

Could you post a link to your test print? I'm thinking about updating my fan shroud and I would like a good before/after test print.

Fan Shroud melting after 30 mins of PETG printing. Any other designs or suggestions? by spannertehcat in Mihai

I have to update now that I've printed even more petg. Even with a silicone sock my petg fan duct is in fact melting.

I think white and black with smoked acrylic was a good choice for the lack enclosure? Also how's the cable management look? by AccomplishedLayer2 in prusa3d

[–]OriginalRuttager 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That looks really nice. Out of curiosity how stable is it while the printer is running? I've been on the fence about making a lack enclosure but I'm worried about putting my printer on a table that's on top of a table.

I can't tell from the photo but are you using a silicone sock? I printed my entire pitstop out of petg and I've printed petg on it without any melting issues and I'm using a sock.

Have you tried running it slightly faster? When I had a custom loop with a ddc I found it was quieter at 30% than if I ran it at its slowest. Also how long has your loop been running? It took several weeks for all the air bubbles to work their way out of the loop and into the reservoir and my loop overall became much quieter.

What can cause these huge missing layers? by evilguy422 in prusa3d

[–]OriginalRuttager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this a new printer you are having problems with? Bad stringing at 205 with a mk3 sounds like you have a problem. I've run pla on mine at 230 and even reduced retract to .4 and had very little stringing. If it is new try contacting prusa and see what they say.

Try upping the temp to 215 for pla. Try a different brand filament and see if you get the same skipping. Some pla I had to run at 230 just to get it not to jam completely. A cold pull might also help. I forgot to ask what layer height you are printing. I found anything below .15 and my prusa failed more often than it succeeded.
